minifigure spiderman
At a time when we are talking about finally discovering some super heroes in the LEGO range, we too often forget that some of them have already been entitled to their set / minifig version in the past. As with Batman, Spiderman was treated to a whole range of sets from 2002 to 2004.

The result of obtaining the Columbia Pictures license, the range only covered the various films released in the early 2000s.

The first sets of 2002 were in fact integrated into the range Studios supposed to represent scenes from filming more than reproductions of the spider-man's cinematic adventures.

It was in 2003 that Spiderman was entitled to his own range, with 3 sets that year based on film released in 2002.

In 2004, 6 sets were produced, based on the second threadm of the saga released the same year. We will quickly forget the two sets of the 4 Juniors range
(or 4 Plus) also released the same year.

These sets had maximum playability for the youngest and made it possible to reproduce key scenes from the films from which they were inspired. You can still get them on bricklink, at relatively fair prices.

Side minifigs, Spiderman was entitled to 4 versions, including 3 really interesting with his iconic costume. There are also many characters from films such as Peter Parker (3 releases), Aunt May, Mary Jane (4 releases), Dr Octopus (4 versions), green goblins  (2 releases), Harry Osborn (2 versions) or J. Jonah Jameson.

In the end, this is an unknown range by the youngest, but which has proved to be quite extensive and followed over several years. Hopefully LEGO will take just as much care in its new LEGO Superheroes line.
