I know a lot of parents frequent this blog so this is my opportunity to reach out to them with the release of a new book edited by Dorling Kindersley which is clearly aimed at the youngest fans of the LEGO Star Wars range.
As its name does not indicate, The Amazing Book of LEGO Star Wars is therefore a book accessible to all those who can read or who have very patient parents. The title of the French version of the work, edited by Huginn & Muninn, is moreover more explicit: LEGO Star Wars: My First Encyclopedia.
No minifig, exclusive or not, supplied with this book. You have to be content with a large-format poster that features the Millennium Falcon from set 75105 released in 2015. The all-line bestseller of 2016 deserved it.
For the rest, the young fan of the LEGO Star Wars universe will find many anecdotes on the different characters in the range. It's written very (very) big and the illustrative visuals are also grossly oversized, but considering that this book is aimed at a particular audience, that's ultimately not a flaw.
Too bad that the photos of minifigs are only those illustrating the sheets of products sold on the LEGO Shop. No scenario, no MOCs, you have to be content with the minimum union.
You have the choice: Either you try to teach some basic English to your offspring and you want them to soak up the language via a medium that guarantees you that you will have their full attention and in this case the original version in English is for you (12 € at amazon).
Either you want him to improve his reading skills via a subject that interests him and the French version (14.95 € at amazon) currently in preorder and announced for early June will do.
Again, this is not a book for the adult fan eager to expand their library of LEGO books. The lack of a minifigure that came with the book will be enough to convince most fans that this barely 48 page book is not for them anyway.
The fact remains that the thing constitutes a simple and visual approach to the LEGO Star Wars universe and the youngest will find their account before moving on to the more opulent books also available on the same theme as The Encyclopedia of Characters (21.95 €) or The Illustrated Encyclopedia (21.95 €).
