After the calamitous "Sample catalog of the Lego Star Wars Figures from 1999-2011"I was telling you about here, here comes another guide dedicated to the countless minifigs produced by LEGO since the 1970s and still simply titled "The Unofficial LEGO Minifigure Catalog".
The author announces a guide of 390 pages containing more than 3600 indexed minifigs, an index facilitating the research, high resolution images and at 1: 1 scale (or almost, according to the author) as well as a sheet per minifig containing the year of production, the number of pieces, the code bricklink as well as the references of the sets containing the minifig in question and the type of head used.

We are therefore not going to get carried away immediately about this ambitious new book apparently using a somewhat complicated ranking system for neophytes, and for which the author announces an IOS compatible application, regular updates and a upcoming sale on Amazon at a price not yet determined.

In addition, the author remains modest, and recognizes that this guide should contain a large part of the minifigs released to date but does not guarantee that the entire LEGO production is referenced. He also calls on the goodwill of AFOLs to help him complete his work and correct any errors.

It remains to be seen whether this book is produced with permission from TLC or not and whether the manufacturer will let an AFOL put a few bills in the pocket on their backs without paying royalties.

You can follow the progress of the project on the author's blog https://www.minifigure.org and ask him your questions. He is rather responsive and seems to want to maintain a dialogue with the community in order to better meet the expectations of potential buyers.
