LEGO Brickheadz (41590 Iron Man, 41591 Black Widow, 41592 Hulk)

We continue our exploration of the first series of BrickHeadz with three characters from the first wave: Hombre de Hierro (ref. 41590) et Black Widowref. 41591) et Hulk (ref. 41592).

While the announcement of the figurines of Jack Sparrowref. 41593) et Armando Salazar (ref. 41594), both rather convincing, had almost reconciled me with this range, the three Avengers in question here remind me once again that the concept has its limits.

To make it short and not to get lost in uninteresting artistic considerations, I will content myself with highlighting a few details that seem embarrassing to me on each of these figurines.

Iron Man is almost successful except he appears to have eyes on his stomach. I do not see more than that.

The Hulk's hands, thought to be closer to a certain reality, are really misshapen and there certainly had to be some other way to make them look bulky. The bar on the forehead only reinforces the impression that the eyes are too low.

Black Widow, probably the most successful figure of the three, seems to come straight from Jacques Dessange with this voluminous brushing. LEGO's inability to properly pad print its own colors (here from Tan for the neck of the figurine) on a black background creates annoying color variations.

For the rest, the internal structure is the same, with a few details, as that of the other figures in the range.

Defect common to many of these figurines, I find many traces of molding and other injection points visible on the Tiles. This is probably the case on a lot of other pieces of the same type in other sets, but this detail really jumped out at me on the Iron Man figure.

In short, as tastes and colors cannot be discussed, it's up to everyone to find in this range the figurines that deserve to spend € 9.99 to acquire them.

More interesting: Beyond all the creativity generated by the launch of this range, with hundreds of creations submitted by fans, I especially retain two structural modifications which allow to bring a little fun to these static figurines:

Seen at New Elementary : The addition of a Turntable 2x2 and some Tiles at the level of the neck allows you to orient the head according to your wishes, with the only limitation of the possible hair of the character which will come up against the body of the figurine:

This is an elegant trick that will give some perspective to the alignment of characters on a shelf.

Another rather nice modification, which this time allows to transform these figurines into Bobbleheadz, detailed in the video below:

This is also the real stroke of genius of this range: To offer figurines whose internal structure is defined and easy to reproduce. The buzz is assured, the fans are having a blast and we are talking about BrickHeadz on all forums. The possibilities are endless and LEGO will therefore only have to "take inspiration" from the most popular creations to perpetuate this range and meet the demand of potential customers. If sales follow, it can last a few years ...

Note: The sets presented here are put into play in the form of a single lot to which I add the fourth Avenger of the range: 41589 Captain America (Tested here), or four boxes in all.
