854011 Eiffel Tower Magnet

As LEGO thought it was a good idea to send me (again) a product featuring the Eiffel Tower with a French flag flying at the top, today we quickly made the tour of the LEGO mini-set 854011 Eiffel Tower Magnet (29 pieces - 9.99 €).

You probably remember the LEGO Architecture set 21044 Paris Skyline I was telling you about a few months ago and which also honored the Eiffel Tower with a surprising French flag fixed to the top of the building, just to help the most distracted to geographically locate the location of the thing.

This is to assemble a magnet to stick on your fridge using the 29 pieces provided and the long sticker that says nonchalantly Hello to the one who comes to serve himself a glass of milk in the middle of the night ... If it was absolutely necessary to put a sticker with a word, "Paris" would undoubtedly have been enough, it was not worth pouring into the caricature to that we understand that this magnet is to the glory of France and its emblematic monument. As it is, I find it a bit kistsch, but it should appeal to tourists.

The magnet is an independent 4x4 brick like those sold in sets of four for € 7.99 (ref. Lego 853900) which is attached to the back of the blue plate. I also find it relatively not very powerful given the construction it supports. But that'll be enough to hang a shopping list or prescription on the fridge door.

On this Parisian mini-skyline, we also find the cloud which served as a support for the collectible minifigures in the Unikitty range (ref. 41775) and which made an appearance in 2019 in the LEGO Ideas set 21316 The Flintstones. For the rest, we will be satisfied with a few green coins and two flowers which vaguely symbolize the Champ-de-Mars.

In summary, nothing very exciting in this little set, except maybe the idea of fixing a plate on the magnet and then personalizing the construction. But I'm sure you haven't waited for this particular product to think about it.

Magnet collectors will also have at their disposal from March 1, an American version with the Statue of Liberty and a Tile specifying that she is in New York (ref. Lego 854031). This other magnet composed of 11 pieces will be sold for € 4.99.

Bonus: Without wanting to make crates on the aspect "respect for the environment", I find that the packaging of the product, on the other hand, does a lot for not much on arrival. I understand that the marketing aces at LEGO want this little product to be clearly visible on the shelves, but there was probably a balance to be found to showcase it without all that cardboard and plastic.

Note: We do as usual. Deadline set at March 2, 2020 next at 23pm.

Update : The winner was drawn and was notified by email, his nickname is indicated below. Without a response from him to my request for contact details within 5 days, a new winner will be drawn.
