Echoing the version recently released by True Dimensions , which is partly composed of Bionicle parts, Omar Ovalle presents his System version of this Destroyer Droid. Naturally, the overall shape suffers from the use of conventional parts, making this Destroyer Droid somewhat clumsy. However, Ovalle has retained a degree of modularity, allowing it to partially fold in on itself.
I'm not entirely convinced by this version, which remains very textbook-like and doesn't do justice to the real Droideka, but it does at least have the merit of showing that this vehicle can be recreated very simply using standard pieces. Therefore, this MOC can be considered as strictly adhering to the LEGO System concept.
Let's not forget that Omar Ovalle is first and foremost a designer, and that his work is part of a comprehensive creative approach within the LEGO universe. His work also includes showcasing his creations visually through box design, some of which is truly outstanding, and presenting his creations within a fictional Star Wars universe context, which he describes in the caption for each set.
