For all those who have not fully understood the multiple possibilities offered by the toypad delivered in the Starter Pack of the LEGO Dimensions game, here is a new trailer that goes over some of the possible interactions between the different physical elements of the game and their virtual application.
We find in the trailer below the level of the game based on the Portal franchise already seen yesterday during the E3 Live, but the few explanatory diagrams of the different functions available according to the physical positioning area of the minifig on the toypad are very informative.
Below are the official visuals of five new expansion packs for which we have so far only had the views available in the instruction booklet of the Starter Pack.
The LEGO Dimensions game is obviously present at E3, the video game's annual high mass currently taking place in the US, and here is a gameplay sequence in a level based on the Portal franchise with Batman, Wyldstyle, Gandalf and Chell all gathered both on the physical portal via their respective minifigs and in the game.
The real interesting feature presented in this video is the one that allows you to use different abilities of the character depending on the position he occupies on the different areas of the physical portal. The interactivity between physical products and their representation or use in the virtual world is quite amazing.
The only question I ask myself is how I am going to play well sitting at the back of my sofa a few meters from my TV and where I will have to place the portal to be able to access it permanently in order to perform the manipulations required to progress in the game ...
Fans of the Ghostbusters license will be in heaven: On the occasion of the posting of a new trailer focusing on the different possibilities of use of the vehicles and accessories provided in the starter and expansion packs, Warner and TT Games officially confirms the presence of the Ghostbusters and Midway Arcade licenses in the LEGO Dimensions game:
"... LEGO Dimensions, the upcoming entertainment experience that merges physical brick building with interactive console gameplay, will include gameplay fromThe Simpsons ™, Doctor Who, Ghostbusters ™, Portal®, Jurassic World ™, Midway arcade, LEGO® Chima ™ and Scooby Doo! ™ These fan favorite worlds, most of which have never before been in a LEGO videogame, will converge with the previously announced DC Comics, The Lord of the Rings ™, The LEGO® Movie ™, The Wizard of Oz ™, LEGO® Ninjago ™ and Back to the Future ™ worlds in one thrilling adventure playable with the LEGO Dimensions Starter Pack ..."
Onward for a new trailer for the LEGO Dimensions video game with luxury guest star Christopher Lloyd aka Doc Brown in the trilogy Back to the Future who discovers the minifigure of the character he plays on the screen ...
The minifigure presented in this trailer is almost but not completely identical to that of the set 21103 The DeLorean Time Machine released in 2013: Doc Brown inherits here new hair more faithful to the appearance of the actor. It will be available in a Fun pack (71230)
Several other new packs were announced today: One Team Pack (two minifigs and two micro-constructions) DC Comics featuring the Joker and Harley Quinn minifigs (71229), three Fun Packs (a minifig and a micro-construction) DC Comics with Superman (71236), Aquaman (71237) and Bane (71240) minifigs and two Fun Packs Ninjago with the minifigs of Sensei Wu (71234) and Lloyd (71239).
Important clarification: it will be possible to "import" up to 7 different characters, vehicles or objects into the game at the same time.
We were talking recently of the next packs intended for the LEGO Dimensions game and it is via the instruction booklets in PDF format uploaded by LEGO that we can discover the visuals of these unpublished packs.
Below, the Team Packs (€24.99) Jurassic World (71205 with Owen and an ACU soldier) and Scooby-Doo (71206 with Sammy and Scooby-Doo), the Level Packs (€29.99) Portal 2 (71203 with a Chell minifigure), Doctor Who (71204 with the minifigure of Peter Capaldi) and The Simpsons (71202 with Homer Simpson's minifigure) as well as Fun Packs (14.99 €) unreleased The Simpsons (71211 with Bart, 71227 with Krusty) and Legends of Chima (71222, 71223 et 71232) who will join those already announced.
For all those who are still wondering, the minifigs will not be sealed on the base which integrates the RFID chip.
