Review : 70900 The Joker Balloon Escape

Today let's take a quick look at the third set, the benchmark 70900 The Joker Balloon Escape (124 pieces - 2 minifigs - 14.99 €) which allows you to build "power plant"by combining the structure provided with those of the references 70901 Mr. Freeze Ice Attack et 70910 Scarecrow's Special Delivery.

No need to overdo it: in this little box, we will especially find the two central characters from The LEGO Batman Movie: Batman and The Joker. To wrap it all up, LEGO added a jetpack, a few balloons and a piece of "power plant".

The factory section provided consists of a storage space for obviously dangerous products with a management console, a piece of pipe with a valve and a bomb laid by the Joker to blow up the factory.

Pressing the yellow 2x4 tile vaguely "explodes" the storage tank. Minimum service for playability, but at this price, you shouldn't ask for too much. To add some pizzazz to this action scene, you can always try filling both half of the tub with a few pieces of your bulk. The explosion will only be more spectacular.

As said above, two minifigs in this box: Batman (again and again) with his Grapple bat and the Joker with his carnivorous smile and supple tail coat. This simple accessory really gives the Joker allure.

The Joker comes with a rather nice jetpack with thrusters so that the machine takes off and adjustable balloons to land smoothly. It's well thought out, it's colorful, I like it a lot.

I can't help but compare this jetpack with these balloons to a Chupa Chups lollipop display, no doubt an old childhood memory ... MOCeurs will appreciate being able to get the parts that make up the balloons in a relatively affordable set.

If you want to treat yourself to a Batman and a Joker from The LEGO Batman Movie, just to mark the occasion without spending too much money and by skipping the rest of the range, this set is for you. If you are already a fan of the film before having seen it, you are going to buy the whole range anyway and you are no longer close to € 14.99.
