Review : 70902 Catwoman Catcycle Chase

If you like Catwoman, this is THE set in which you can get this brand new version of the character. The minifig in question only appears in one box of this first wave of sets based on The LEGO Batman Movie:  70902 Catwoman Catcycle Chase (139 pieces - 3 minifigs - 24.99 €).

For the rest, the contents of this box are quite uneven, but we will have to do with it.

Let us immediately evacuate the "jewelry" provided. It's cute, but it looks like a cardboard film set with a false front and nothing behind. Too bad that LEGO has not imagined here another element of the famous "electric factory" to combine with those of the sets 70900 The Joker Balloon Escape, 70901 Mr. Freeze Ice Attack et 70910 Scarecrow's Special Delivery. Nothing to rave about this mini-shop, even if it obviously allows you to (re) play a scene of theft of jewelry with the inevitable pursuit that results.

The real plus of the set, if we forget the minifigs provided, it is obviously Catwoman's motorcycle. And it is successful. The whole is solid, it rolls, it's playable and fun to assemble. The handlebars will tend to come loose from its support when positioning it to fit in Catwoman's hands, but nothing serious.

A rim with two identical faces would also be welcome to create this type of motorcycle, just to provide more visual homogeneity to the final result. But it's detail.

Your collection of well-designed motorcycles that can be used with a minifigure will therefore be able to expand after those of Batman and Harley Quinn available in the set 76053 Batman Gotham City Cycle Chase released last year.

All parts of the bike are pad printed, no stickers. Note: the part used to dress the tank with the meter is even delivered in duplicate in this box. You can therefore choose to use it when you lose the first one or build yourself a chopper customized without having to disassemble the motorcycle from the set.

The four pad-printed cylinders placed on the sides ensure an excellent engine finish. I love this detail.

On the minifig side, Catwoman is therefore for the moment exclusive to this box. His suit, very tight, even incorporates in the back what seems to be a protective reinforcement usually used by bikers. Too bad that the glasses of the glasses are pad printed directly on the face of the minifigure. I would have preferred a classic face and the glasses integrated into the mask.

Batgirl is identical to the minifig in the set 70906 The Joker Notorious Lowrider (49.99 €) and Robin is identical to the version available in the set 70905 The Batmobile (64.99 €). If you want to get these two characters at a reasonable price without depriving yourself of Catwoman in her complete outfit (We forget the prisoner outfit version of the set 70912 Arkham Asylum), this box is therefore the best alternative.
