LEGO BrickHeadz 41595 Belle and 41596 Beast

Because it's not just super heroes in life, LEGO has opened its new line of buildable figures, the BrickHeadz, to other worlds.

The first two boxes based on these other licenses, which have been unveiled for the moment, are those allowing to assemble the two main protagonists of the cult animated film Beauty and the Beast: 41595 Beautiful (139 pieces) and 41596 Beast (116 rooms).

LEGO had the good idea to send me the 10 known sets of the first wave and I take this opportunity to take a closer look at what these minifigures of a hundred pieces sold for 9.99 € are worth. All parts with patterns or inscriptions are also pad printed, and LEGO provides an extra eye in each box.

If you are an observer, you will have noticed that the box 41596 bears the number 12. This first series indeed consists of 12 figurines, and the two sets bearing the references 41593 and 41594 will be officially unveiled before the end of February. they appear on the back of the two boxes above, but I can't say anything yet ...

Those who know Pop! will obviously have made the connection between these BrickHeadz and the vinyl characters marketed by Funko.

Same look Chibi, same disproportionate head, size almost equivalent to half a centimeter. simplified-looking face without a mouth and with a pair of eyes set apart, numbered individual packaging, it's all there. Funko products are collected by many fans and LEGO is probably hoping to generate the same craze for BrickHeadz.

Each figurine in the range uses an almost identical internal structure for the head: There are 14 examples from part 6123809 (Brick, Modified 1 x 2 x 1 2/3 with Studs on 1 Side) on which the plates which dress the head of the character and in the center a few colored pieces including a pink "brain".

For the rest, it is according to the physical and clothing attributes of the reproduced character.

Finally, We fix the character 7 cm high on the plate that serves as a support. A Plate reminds us that this is indeed a product from the first series of twelve characters in the BrickHeadz range via the pad printed logo and number.

Even if each box indicates that this product is intended for an audience of at least ten years old, there is nothing too complicated here for an attentive child. But these products are intended to be lined up on a shelf, the youngest will probably not find their account.

We will have to get used to it, it is the concept that decides and it is not a question here of proposing a faithful reproduction of the character concerned but rather of adapting it to the BrickHeadz sauce by trying to keep the attributes that make it recognizable.

Concerning Belle, the bet is in my opinion more or less successful. The dress is there, the hair flutters in the wind and the bun is stylish but very present. It's cute.

The Beast, on the other hand, shows us the limits of the concept. The costume is there but everything else reminds me, as I said before, of a hamster in formal wear than the creature from the animated film. It missed.

As I said on Brick Heroes speaking of the set 41589 Captain America, I am not convinced by this new range, but tastes and colors are indisputable and these products will probably find their audience.
