The Cantina by Mos Eisley is one of the many chestnut trees in the LEGO Star Wars range with already three sets marketed by the brand. If the 2004 version (4501 Mos Eisley Winery) will not have left an imperishable memory for collectors as regards the building, that of 2014 was already more opulent (75052 Mos Eisley Winery - € 88.99).
The 2018 version (75205 Mos Eisley Winery - 376 pieces - 49.99 €) can also be seen as a addon pack for the set marketed in 2014 even if it brings its share of novelties.
This new box will allow the bravest to enlarge the Cantina, lengthen the bar counter, expand the Sandtroopers patrol and furnish a street corner with a new device that appears stealthily in the film.
Marketing policy requires, we end up with a box whose content reproduces a scene dating from 1977 dressed with the official visual imposed on all products derived from the film The Last Jedi. A bit anachronistic.
Of the Cantina, there are only a few walls and a piece of open-air counter behind which Wuher will stand. No fun at "recreate the iconic scenes"that take place in the establishment, or it will be necessary to show a lot of imagination.
To look good, LEGO still delivers something new to build in this set: The Landspeeder Ubrikkian 9000 Z001 seen in the movie. The LEGO version is immediately recognizable, there are not fifty such devices in the Star Wars universe.
The achievement is just passable and you can only place one minifigure there while the machine is supposed to be able to carry up to three people. Nothing very serious, this Ubrikkian 9000 will do the trick to flesh out a diorama placed on a shelf.
For the rest, the alcove in which Han and Greedo discuss before shooting themselves will also do the trick. LEGO has thought of integrating here a lamp based on phosphorescent pieces on the table that separates the two protagonists, just to stick to the scene of the film. Anecdotal, but that's always taken.
We can't really talk about playability here: one door that opens, two armchairs that tilt via the built-in mechanism, children or fans of today need a little more ... more impress by the different clips that connect the three modules together. This mini-set is not "modular" as it is and the Cantina cannot be "deploys"not as much as LEGO would suggest in the official product description.
Regarding the characters provided, and if we consider that this set is ultimately just a pretext to sell us minifigs, LEGO offers a rather consistent assortment.
The arrival of Wuher in the LEGO catalog is good news. The character is beloved by fans and it was time for LEGO to pay tribute to him. The character's outfit is simple, but true to the costume from the movie. Regarding the face, LEGO gives us an acceptable and "softened" adaptation of the features of British actor Ted Burnett, including scars.
Sandtroopers fans are entitled to the version already seen in the set 75052 Mos Eisley Winery raised here to the rank of sergeant with slightly different back equipment. Under the helmet, the Clone head has already been seen and reviewed in many boxes of the LEGO Star Wars range.
Greedo appears here in a new version with a less coarse pad printing than that of the minifigure from the 2014 set. Still no pad printing on the arms to more faithfully reproduce the costume of the film. Never mind.
Finally, the Han Solo minifigure delivered in this box is not new, it was already available in the set. 75159 Death Star released in 2016.
New collectors will be happy with this overpriced mini-version of Mos Eisley's Cantina which allows them to get a new machine and four minifigs in the process, but regulars in the LEGO Star Wars range will probably be hungry for more.
The collector that I am obviously cannot ignore the arrival of Wuher in a minifig version, but the acquisition of this box will wait for a significant reduction in its price at one dealer or another.
Note: The set presented here, supplied by LEGO, is included in the game. To participate in the raffle, simply post a comment on this article before the March 14 at 23:59 p.m.. You have every right to disagree with me, this is not eliminatory.
