Remember, early 2021 LEGO consulted his fans to determine the universe which would have the honor of celebrating the 90 years of the group via a commemorative set stamped 18+ and marketed in 2022. You have probably already forgotten that you may have participated in this consultation, including the first round had also generated a little drama because of the division of the Castle range into several sub-universes, which left four ranges potentially in the spotlight this year: Bionicle, Classic Space, Pirates and Castle.
We do not know the result of the second phase of the consultation, it will not be made public before the announcement of the set in question which will logically take place ... this year. We know that the LEGO company was officially founded on August 10, 1932 and LEGO confirms that the various operations planned to celebrate this anniversary will not take place before the summer.
For those interested, in the initial vote it was the Bionicle universe that won with 24799 votes. The Classic Space universe finished in second place with 18171 votes and the Pirates theme finished third with 15884 votes. By grouping together the votes directed to the different subcategories of the Castle universe, the theme would have won the day with 33489 votes out of the 77000 votes cast. LEGO had therefore taken into account the dissatisfaction of fans and chose to select four themes instead of the three initially planned.
We could conclude that the Castle universe will win out much again, but we are not immune to a surprise. Definitive answer when LEGO wants to announce the famous commemorative set which will satisfy at least a quarter of the most nostalgic fans.
