21303 WALL-E - 6162839 Rework Bag

Continuation and end of the adventures linked to the set LEGO Ideas 21303 WALL-E with the announcement by LEGO of the shipment of the kit allowing the modification of the robot's neck: I immediately received the confirmation by email of the sending of the mini-kit bearing the reference 6162839 and simply titled Rework Bag, 21303.

LEGO therefore sends a bag containing the parts necessary for the modification and the small booklet that you can see on the right in the image above. This instruction booklet replaces the corresponding pages of the original robot neck construction phase booklet.

If you still have not received confirmation that your request has been taken into account from customer service, do not hesitate to relaunch by email or by phone at 00800 5346 5555 mentioning that you want to obtain the reference 6162839.

Some details about the modification proposed by LEGO on the set 21303 Wall-E to solve the problem of maintaining the robot head: This is in fact the publication by the manufacturer of a new instruction booklet in PDF format (to download at this address). If you want to compare the two versions, the instruction file of the set sold so far is to download at this address.

These new instructions will therefore be provided in the sets which will contain the modified version of the robot.

To date, LEGO has still not officially communicated on the possibility for buyers of the set in its original version to obtain the parts necessary for the modification.

If you purchased the set as soon as it was launched and in the weeks that followed, do not hesitate to contact LEGO customer service to obtain the pack of parts affected by the implementation of this modification.

If you have planned to purchase this set from December 4th, availability date announced on the LEGO Shop, you will therefore probably be entitled to the new version of the set.

LEGO Ideas 21303 WALL-E

This LEGO Ideas set has generated a lot of ink: Many customers have complained about various problems with the little WALL-E robot in a LEGO version since its marketing.

LEGO finally reacts officially by explaining taking into account the feedback from fans who noticed a problem with the robot's head. Better late than never.

In essence, the designers of the brand are reviewing their copy in order to propose a solution to this problem of rotation a little too "fluid" to the tastes of many customers of the head of WALL-E.

The set is therefore currently unavailable on the LEGO Shop and in the LEGO Stores until further notice pending the release of a version "corrected"from the set.

If you have already purchased this box and would like to benefit from the future modifications that will be made to this model, you can contact LEGO customer service who will probably be happy to send you the essential parts to update your robot. as soon as this has been validated by the manufacturer.

 Dear LEGO® Fans,

In order to make the LEGO Ideas set 21303 WALL E as fun as the character in the movie, we created the model with the ability to turn his head all the way around.

Since the model has been launched we have received feedback from fans who feel WALLE's head moves a bit too freely.

Feedback from our fans is very important for us and we've decided to take their advice and make some improvements to the set.

Our designers are currently working on some small changes to the model.

Therefore the LEGO Ideas Set 21303 WALLE is currently not available at shop.LEGO.com and in some LEGO Stores.

Once the reworked version of the model has been finalized LEGO WALLE will make a full return. For the latest updates on availability, please visit WALL E on shop.LEGO.com.

If you've already purchased your LEGO Ideas WALL E:

It is very important to us that fans have a great building and playing experience with all our sets and we appreciate feedback to improve our sets. Our Customer Service can answer questions on existing models and can be reached via LEGO.com/service

While LEGO still does not make up its mind to communicate clearly and officially about the design flaw that seems to affect the little robot in the LEGO Ideas 21303 set, it is Brickset who clearly has the task of clarifying the manufacturer's position on this. topic.

In short, the lack of rigidity in the neck of WALL-E is not considered a defect despite the lack of friction of the affected parts noted in several reviews.

Another issue would affect this set, but it would only affect units intended for the US market. Customers can request replacement of affected parts from LEGO Customer Service. These parts supplied by LEGO have nothing to do with the neck friction problem mentioned above.

Sets sold in France are not affected by this second "fault" and the set is therefore considered to be perfectly functional.

The leitmotif is obvious: Do your own thing to improve things if you feel like it. Or do you have a reason ...
