LEGO officially announces the construction of a factory in China, and more precisely in Jiaxing, a city of 5 million inhabitants located about one hundred kilometers from Shanhai and whose axes of development in terms of living environment and environment are close to the values usually defended by the toy manufacturer.

Construction of this factory will begin in 2014, with a gradual ramp-up to reach a surface area of 120.000 m2 in 2017. 2000 employees should eventually work in this LEGO factory which will meet 70/80% of demand in Asia. All the products manufactured in this factory will be intended for the Asian market, specifies Michel McNulty, Vice-President at LEGO.
LEGO also specifies that the construction of this factory is part of the policy of bringing together production and marketing sites, and of reducing the impact on the environment by limiting the needs for transporting products between Europe and the United States. 'Asia.

Until now, LEGO had already subcontracted parts of its production to China, but this factory is the first establishment of the LEGO Group in this country.

Even if LEGO does not mention it, the cost of labor on site is necessarily one of the criteria for choosing China to set up a new factory there. We will see if LEGO gradually succumbs to the sirens of absolute productivity in defiance of product quality, labor rights and respect for employees or if the manufacturer will be able to put into practice the values it usually defends in this country where it is setting up for the first time.

The press release: LEGO Group to build factory in China.

LEGO HULKBUSTER Iron Man

I do not know if we are still in the LEGO theme or in the field of custom with this spectacular version of the Hulkbuster armor proposed by Minh "Tuminio" Pham.

Up to you. For my part, I obviously find this achievement sympathetic, but I think we are leaving the LEGO domain to go towards the customization of Warhammer type miniatures.

üTo see more, it's on Tuminio's flickr gallery that it happens.

Comics and Artists

And it is because Nicolas Forsans (Muttpop) allowed us in 2012 to obtain a French (and collector's) version of the book "The Cult of LEGO", which became for the occasion "LEGO Culture", that I support his current project which should delight comic book fans. And it's also because he is a nice guy, passionate and serious.

With "Comics and Artists", French version of the reference book" Leaping Tall Buildings ", we will finally be able to put faces to the names we all remember.
We've seen (or read) them hundreds of times at the start of every episode of the adventures of our favorite heroes in Strange or Spidey: Stan Lee, Franck Miller, Jack Kirby, Jim Lee, Steve Ditko and many more. These names resonate in the ears of comic book fans.

This 240-page book brings together 50 portraits written by Christopher Irving and illustrated by photographer Seth Kushner. What to discover behind the scenes and to know a little more about those who created all these characters who have since become heroes of popular films or animated series.

This book is also a very nice gift to offer: You must have a comic book fan around you. Think about it even if you yourself are not a fan of the topic discussed ...

As LEGO Culture, it's happening at Ulule and the Collector's edition project (600 copies, Gucci finish) will only be funded if at least € 7 is collected before April 000, 17. It's on track and if you are a fan of comics, this project should not leave you indifferent.
