Nuremberg Toy Fair: LEGO Lord of the Rings 2012

This will undoubtedly be one of the only photos of this Toy Fair currently being held in Nuremberg, Germany with these maxifigs of Frodo and Samwise. I intentionally cut the guy on the left present on the original photo seen on the FBTB flickr, he may not want to be found everywhere on the internet ...

In the background, we see Shelob, the giant spider seen in the third film of the cinematographic saga directed by Peter Jackson and which will be delivered in the 9470 Shelob Attacks set with 3 minifigs: Frodo, Samwise & Gollum.

Hasbro Quinjet - The Avengers

Hasbro is gradually unveiling its range of toys based on the license and the movie The Avengers and we therefore discover the Quinjet and the Helicarrier produced by the manufacturer.

Logically, LEGO should offer models of this type, also based on the machines from the film in the next sets. 6868 Hulk's Helicarrier Breakout  (with probably just a portion of the interior of the machine with an advertised price of around 59 €) and 6869 Quinjet Aerial Battle (the Quinjet will undoubtedly be represented in full with an announced price of around € 83).

Berserk Captain America by forrestfire101

I have a lot of respect for all those who spend hours directing their brickfilms, frame by frame, movement by movement, for a few minutes of visual pleasure in the end.

forrestfire101 is no novice and his latest creation once again sets the bar higher. In 2 minutes and 25 seconds, Captain America shoots, dismembers, explodes, beheads and guts a slew of minifigs. The production is very high-end with a high-end Cape custom, all different weapons from Brickarms, incredible special effects, (pico) liters of blood, neat lighting and fluid animation.

I'm a fan, I've been going over it over and over since this morning to catch every detail and it's just exhilarating.

Be careful with the youngest though, violence and blood are very present and even if they are only a few minifigs, the effects are so striking that they are likely to shock sensitive souls. For the others, forward for 2.25 minutes of action ...

To simplify everyone's life and because these minifigs deserve to be examined from every angle to get an idea, here they are in close-up. Click on the images to view a large version.

The first reactions read here and there on the internet are very positive. Even Gollum found his audience ...

LEGO distills the visuals of the Lord of the Rings range in a dropper and now offers a poster of Gollum, rather disappointing for my taste with his alien head escaped from area 51, and two boards featuring the characters of the Fellowship of the Ring ™ already seen at the London Toy Fair 2012 to which are added an Uruk-Hai, a Moria Orc, a Mordor Orc and a Ringrwaith.

The Uruk-Hai's armor is successful, a small silkscreen wouldn't hurt. The two Orcs have pretty chests, the faces are also very consistent, only the hair leaves me a little doubtful. As for the Ringrwaith, nothing fancy, grab your Star Wars minifigs and do it yourself.

We will weigh these visuals which are in fact 3D renderings of the minifigs concerned and not the real plastic minifigs. their situation is different from what will be possible, especially in terms of poses, movements of the arms and legs, with the plastic versions that I am waiting to see to confirm or deny my first impressions.

Note also the difference in design between the two versions of Gollum. That of the poster is obviously over-styled to attract customers. That of the character board is downright pathetic .... Even the 1999 Sebulba (7171 Mos Espa Podrace) is more credible.

It is also confirmed that all the hobbits will be styled like Elijah Wood aka Frodo Baggins in the movie.
