2022 will be the year of the update of the encyclopedia of characters LEGO DC Comics with the publication announced of an updated version of the work initially published in 2016. This new book entitled LEGO DC Character Encyclopedia New Edition will bring together on 200 pages a little more than 200 characters about which the author will present as usual some facts, statistics and other anecdotes. It will be especially the occasion to obtain a new exclusive minifigure.
The cover used for the promotion of the book is provisional and the location reserved for the figurine does not currently allow to confirm which character it is. We can imagine that it will be Klarion Bleak, the character being mentioned at the end of the book's pitch in the company of Bronze Tiger whose figurine is delivered in the set 76160 Batman: Mobile Bat-Base. If the publisher mentions this character and it does not come in any box in the LEGO DC Comics range by the time of the release of this encyclopedia update, then there is a good chance that it will be the exclusive minifigure supplied.
The new edition of DK's bestselling book in the LEGO DC theme.
Meet more than 200 minifigures from the LEGO DC world - plus an exclusive minifigure for your collection! |

Le Store Calendar US of October 2021 unveils the promotional offers that will be offered across the Atlantic, and probably also in Europe under the same conditions:
|
We will have to wait a few more days to have confirmation that these offers will be available on the same dates in Europe.
LEGO confirms today that the four 32x32 or 48x48 base plates currently marketed will still be available in 2022 and thus denies the rumors that announced the end of life of these products.
As of March 2022, these four plates will simply change their reference and packaging: no more plastic in plastic, but plastic in paper. The product delivered in the bag will remain the same but this change of packaging will be accompanied by a modification of the references:
|
LEGO does not communicate on a possible modification of the public price of these plates, we can therefore consider until proof to the contrary that they will always be sold 7.99 € the unit for the 32x32 and 14.99 € for the gray 48x48.
LEGO today publishes its interim financial results for the first half of 2021 and all indicators are once again very green after a year 2020 which already confirmed that the manufacturer had definitively found color.
LEGO announces a 46% increase in turnover and a sales volume growth of 36% in all markets where the brand is present. The operating result recorded an increase of 104% and the net profit jumped significantly 140% over the period compared to 2020.
In addition to these accounting data, LEGO states that double-digit growth was observed in all markets and that the three-digit operating profit was nevertheless somewhat weighed down by the increase in the cost of materials. raw materials and logistics costs. On the online sales side, LEGO simply indicate that the volume of sales on its own channels and through the brand's resellers has simply doubled compared to 2020.
The list of popular ranges is no real surprise, we find the "house" themes Technic, Creator Expert (18+) and CITY as well as the Star Wars and Harry Potter licensed universes.
Despite the exceptional performance recorded in the first half of 2021 and the very optimistic projections for the end of the year, LEGO ultimately expects a "return to normal" and a stabilization of sales volumes, considering that its customers will resume consumption habits. classics in which the toy will probably no longer be as important. In the meantime, the manufacturer says it wants to continue to invest heavily in finding a replacement material for ABS plastic as well as in a more sustainable packaging strategy with the goal of 100% recyclable packaging by 2025.
During the first half of 2021, LEGO will have opened more than 60 new stores around the world, including more than 40 units in China. As of June 30, 2021, the brand had 737 official stores, including 291 in China.
Rest assured, all those worried about LEGO's financial health, the manufacturer has ample means to invest in improving its pad printing techniques, better packaging its transparent parts, solving color difference problems or reducing the use of stickers ...
