For those interested, the visuals of the Nexo Knights set 70326 The Black Knight Mech are now available.
In the box, 530 pieces, Robin, a Squirebot, an Ash Attacker, Whiparella and 3 Nexo Powers. US retail price: $ 39.99.
Just a thought in passing: How can LEGO come up with something based on an animated series itself based on toys and ensure that the reproduction of the stuff in question is NOT faithful to the version seen on TV?
In the animated series, the robot piloted by Robin is BLACK. Not blue, gray and black, but GRAY and BLACK ... And I'm not even talking about the reproduction of the shield and the sword ...
On the left in the image above, the robot from the set 70327 The King's Mech, whose reproduction is relatively faithful.
The usual approximations of movie-based LEGO sets are often justified by the fact that LEGO works very early on in derivative products and often only has access to very preliminary visuals or content provided by the studios.
But in the case of the Nexo Knights range, a house license, how does LEGO manage to offer a derivative product that bears no resemblance to the reference content it claims to reproduce? If you have a credible explanation, I'll listen to you (Unless Jean-Michel Apeupré now works at LEGO ...).
Funcom, publisher of the LEGO Minifigures Online video game has just released its annual accounts for 2015.
Throughout the pages of this somewhat indigestible document we learn that this game, offered in Freemium (free with in-app purchases) at the beginning then paid for during the year 2015, does not bring much more to the studio and that the planned objectives were not reached in 2014 and 2015:
Funcom communicated in the Q3 2014 report that the initial numbers coming in from the first weeks of live data indicated that it would take longer than planned to achieve the internal targets for player and returned in 2014 and 2015. The Company has during 2015 been unable to improve these numbers. As a result of this the revenues generated by LEGO® Minifigures Online did not meet the internal forecasts. The Company has therefore fully written off the underlying assets of the game. The license agreement with LEGO for the LEGO® Minifigures Online game ends October 2016. |
As a logical consequence of this financial finding, the development team in charge of the game has been relocated to other projects:
The LEGO® Minifigures Online game launched on all platforms in June 2015 and was kept up to date with the release of several LEGO® Minifigures physical products during the year. Due to the low revenues originating from this product, the development team was moved to other projects. |
Updates to the game should therefore be very rare in the coming months and Collectible Minifig Series 16 (71013) should in principle be the last to integrate codes to unlock the virtual versions of the different characters in the game.
The contract between Funcom and LEGO ending in October 2016, we know the rest ...
We'll get over it.
Another set that was the subject of rumors and which is now confirmed by official visuals: This is therefore the benchmark 75158 Rebel Combat Frigate, a box of 936 pieces based on the animated series Star Wars Rebels.
In the box, to accompany the ship Phoenix home seen in season 2 of the series, 5 characters: An unpublished version of Ahsoka Tano, Chopper, Ezra Bridger, Jun Sato (Commander of the Phoenix squadron) and Agent Kallus.
No public price for the moment - Availability a priori planned for this summer.
For those who like LEGO sets based on superheroes, I remind you that the official visuals of the Marvel sets 76067 Tanker Truck Takedown and DC Comics 76056 Rescue from Ra's al Ghul are online on Brick Heroes.
I was (again) a bad tongue: The Millennium Falcon microphone recently offered at Toys R Us in the USA and the UK arrives in France.
If you want to leave with this 4-piece ship and the instruction sheet, you'll need to visit one of the participating Toys R Us stores on June XNUMX.
You can verify at this address if your regular store will offer this free animation.
If you are able to obtain a copy that you do not wish to keep, contact me, I am interested and we will probably find an arrangement.

Fans of the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes line have been eagerly awaiting this box since the announcement of a 4th set based on the movie Captain America: Civil War. Here are the official visuals of the set 76067 Tanker Truck Takedown which joins the three sets already released: 76047 Black Panther Pursuit, 76050 Crossbones Hazard Heist and the set 76051 Super Hero Airport Battle that this new box comes "to flesh out".
In the box, 330 pieces, four minifigs (Captain America, Hawkeye, Vision and Spider-Man), a motorcycle for Hawkeye and a tank truck from the Roxxon company.
Below is the official description of the online set on the LEGO Shop US (US public price: $ 29.99 - Availability announced on August 1, 2016):
Jump to the rescue and control the blaze with the Avengers and Spider-Man!
The airport battle continues between the divided Avengers. Pitch Captain America and Hawkeye against Spider-Man and Vision. Which duo will win as they battle it out around the exploding Roxxon tanker truck? Use the Super Jumper to fly into the air and put out the truck's flames, or explode the barrels to stop Captain America advancing. Help Spider-Man use his web blast to defend himself against Hawkeye speeding at him on his motorbike.
