21104 Mars Science Laboratory Curiosity Rover

The results of the review phase launched in autumn 2012 (See this infographic) including three Cuusoo projects (Mars Curisosity Rover, Thinking with Portals et UCS Sandcrawler) which had reached 10.000 supporters have just fallen: The explorer robot sent to Mars has been selected and the next set will be marketed under the reference 21104 Mars Science Laboratory Curiosity Rover.

NASA agrees, the project presented falls within the framework of the values defended by LEGO ("... inspire and develop the builders of tomorrow ...") and the educational interest for this type of set has been taken into account. The final product should be very close to the version presented by Perijove in his project. Public price and availability will be communicated later.

For its part, the project UCS Sandcrawler definitely goes by the wayside with as justification, I quote: "... Unfortunately we can't approve this project in the LEGO Review based on our ongoing relationship and collaboration with Lucasfilm on LEGO Star War ... "

This gives us a precise idea of the fate of all the Cuusoo projects based on the Star Wars license ...

Project Thinking with Portals stay on probation. A decision will be taken shortly about it by the team in charge of studying the projects.

You can read the full press release posted on the LEGO Cuusoo blog at this address.

Below, the presentation of the results in video by Tim Courtney.
