10937 Arkham Asylum Breakout

This is not the scoop of the year, but there is still one thing that annoys me, so I am talking about it here: The set 10937 Arkham Asylum Breakout is listed on the LEGO Shop at a price of 159.99 €. It's expensive, but let's say that after all it's not a problem, it will sell by buckets.

Where LEGO takes us a bit for idiots is that the manufacturer indicates that it is possible to obtain 319 VIP points for this set, i.e. a discount of around € 15 to be used later on the site (... Earn 1 point for every € 1 spent. For every 100 points collected, we offer you € 5 to spend on a future purchase! ...). But this information is false, for a very simple reason. VIP points are doubled only during the month of October, and it is not possible to order this set at this time. And it will probably not be possible to order it before October 31, 2012.

You will tell me that it is the automatic doubling of VIP points system for all LEGO products during the month of October that is responsible for this situation. This is undoubtedly true, but the fact remains that LEGO could have foreseen this situation. (The same goes for the set 10233 Horizon Express).

LEGO Star Wars Planet Series 2013

We won't have to be satisfied for long with the preliminary visuals of the 2013 sets of the Planet Series range.

Here are already 4 of them in their final version. I fell in love with Coruscant from set 75007 on the planets side and for Tantive IV from set 75011 on the ship side as far as I'm concerned.

Edit: And here are the last two visuals following Venator's comment. The Snowspeeder and the B-Wing are successful. The planets a little less, too uniform for my taste.

The sign Dreamland offers a 15% reduction on toys until October 31, 2012, applicable in all stores in Belgium and also valid on the website with the promotional code B823 to be mentioned when making your online reservations (see the conditions of application of this promotion).

Our Belgian friends can also participate in two competitions allowing them to win either a Darth Vader maxifig (110 cm high) and a Friends puppy (50 cm high).

All you have to do is complete the respective participation coupons before December 6, 2012, indicating the answer to the following question: How many pieces are made up of these sculptures? A subsidiary question (guessing the number of participants in these two contests) will allow us to decide between the participants who gave the same answer. There will be 1 winner per store.

You can download the two participation coupons in pdf format here: Maxifig Star Wars - Maxifig Friends.

Creations for Charity 2012 by LegohaulicTyler "Legohaulic"is a talented MOCeur who also knows how to show great generosity. He designed these Star Wars characters for the 2012 edition of the operation Creations for Charity which aims to give LEGO sets to children who are not fortunate enough that we all have here.

The principle is very simple, MOCeurs donate their creations which are then sold via a dedicated store on Bricklink. The sums collected are allocated to the purchase of sets which are then distributed to various charities in the USA (and this year in Croatia and Chile).

These characters with hilarious facial expressions that you'll instantly recognize have already been sold. If you want to bring your stone (or your money) to the building, go on the Bricklink store of the operation.

The other creation that really excited me this week is that of markus1984 and it's this scene of the Death Star attack by the X-Wing and the Millennium Falcon entering the heart of the Imperial base seen in theEpisode VI Return of the Jedi. The mini X-Wing is a creation of markus1984, the Millennium Falcon is a MOD of the 7778 Midi-Scale Millennium Falcon set spacecraft released in 2009.

To better understand the scope of the work accomplished and the importance of the shooting for this type of diorama, go to the flickr gallery by markus1984. He presents many close-ups and also shows the MOC in its entirety.

10219 Maersk Train

A Brickset user has communicated a list (probably not exhaustive) obtained from a source considered reliable of the products whose production stops this year and which you will have to obtain quickly if you do not want to pay a high price in six months...

10219 Maersk Train (98.99 € on amazon.it)
10217 Diagon Alley190.00 € on amazon.fr)
8043 Motorized Excavator129.99 € on amazon.it)
10193 Medieval Market Village (88.89 € on amazon.fr)
10216 Winter Village Bakery49.90 € on amazon.fr)

Among the sets whose maintenance in the LEGO catalog has been confirmed:

10188 Death Star (322.00 € on amazon.it)
10197 Fire Brigade124.90 € on amazon.it)

Apparently none of the sets in the so-called range Structure will only be stopped this year. This list is obviously not complete, other sets may go by the wayside this year such as for example the 10212 UCS Imperial Shuttle207.99 € on amazon.it).
