Star Wars Charity Characters Set 2 by Legohaulic

Faced with the success of his first series of characters with the aspect "Cartoon"from the Star Wars universe offered as part of the operation Creations for Charity, Legohaulic is bringing it back with a second batch that is just as creative, if not more.

Special mention for the Ewok and for Lando Calrissian which I find particularly successful.

Legohaulic's flickr gallery is at this address.

LEGO Lord of the Rings - Siege of Gondor by Masked Builder

The starting point is simple: Offer an OMC on the Lord of the Rings theme while trying to respect the constraints that LEGO must meet to offer an official set for sale.

If you follow the blog, you may have already seen the work of Nuju Metru in the same spirit.

As part of this MOCAthalon 2012, the flower of MOCeurs is therefore found on MOCpages to offer teams of many creations on different themes, both of which on the Lord of the Rings theme presented here: The Masked Builder Siege of Gondor (above) and Legohaulic Oliphant (below).

Obviously in this MOCAthalon which brings together talented MOCeurs as well as many less experienced AFOLs, the very good rubs shoulders with the less good, but you should have a good time discovering all these creations.

lego ideas special review rejected projects 2019

All is not lost for the four projects below, all holders of the 10.000 supports necessary for the passage to the evaluation phase but initially rejected by LEGO which changes its mind today and therefore decides to give them a second chance:

LEGO specifies that these four projects were selected internally among all the projects which had in their time gathered the 10.000 required supporters. So these are the finalists who did not win the grand final but who are still drafted because that's how it is and it's LEGO who decides.

To choose which project can be saved and will have the chance to become an official product in 2020, LEGO relies once again on the fans who can vote today to support the project that interests them the most. One choice, one vote.

At the end of this voting phase which ends on June 4 at 15:00 p.m., the winning project will become an official set from the LEGO Ideas range and the creator of the project in question will be entitled to his commission on the sales.

Small clarification: It is not possible to follow the evolution of votes in real time, it will be necessary to wait until the end of this selection phase to know which project will have obtained the most support.

To vote for your favorite rejected project, it's here.

LEGO Ideas: 10 projects in the running for the first batch of 2018

While waiting for the official announcement of the LEGO Ideas set 21311 Voltron Defender of the Universe which should not delay any longer, it is now the end of the first validation cycle of projects which reached 10.000 supporters during the first quarter of 2018 and we end up with 10 creations that all claim to become an official set:

As far as I'm concerned, nothing very exciting, except maybe the project based on The Flintstones license which I think is really fun.

Special mention for the Mega-UCS of the Acclamator which obviously has no chance but which you can download the instructions here...

While waiting to know more next fall on the future of these 10 projects, this summer we will obtain the results of the last review phase of 2017 for which LEGO has confirmed to have selected at least one of the projects in the running:

Wicket the Ewok by BaronSat

An Ewok is necessarily mean.

I must have already written it to you somewhere, I've always been afraid of the Ewoks. Younger, their black eyes without blinking an eyelid really posed a problem for me, luckily solved in the Blu-ray edition by the way ...

In vain I told myself that these are just a few cubs living in harmony in a distant forest, sooner or later I thought of their eyes of deceitful cannibals. Since then I have been better, thank you.

BaronSat gratifies us here with one of those hairy critters and it's impeccable. Studs, which we tend to do without more and more, intelligently serve the realization here.

This character reminds me a bit of this current trend of cartoony mini characters (Legohaulic here, light2525 there), and this is the opportunity to see on this theme the work of MOCeurs who usually produce very different things.

To find out about other BaronSat MOCs (if you haven't already done so for a long time), go to his flickr gallery.
