Finally a message from LEGO to all those who have received an invitation for the Grand Opening which was to take place from January 14 to 19:
(Thanks to Tribolego for info)
I'll be short, because it's starting to tire me a little: There will be no opening of the LEGO Store in Disney Village from January 14 to 19.
The opening is postponed if we are to believe several forums and facebook pages devoted to the news of Disney parks. Disneyland Paris has reportedly informed its Disney Village partners of this cancellation. Obviously, the customers invited to the inauguration, who cares to warn them.
You can therefore frame your invitation or make it into a plane, unless it is valid for a later inauguration and that LEGO confirms it in one way or another. For the moment, no communication from LEGO on the subject. It's ugly...
We are now talking about January 25 for an opening to the public, but as those who announce this new date are also those who have been announcing the opening for the following week for several months, we remain cautious and we wait for there to be light and heat to go for a walk in this LEGO Store.
Besides, I notice that there is a lot of bickering on all these forums about the glory of Disney, who will have the privilege of knowing something first, of knowing a guy who knows a guy who has heard that ... etc. ... A bit like some LEGO fans actually ...
If someone from LEGO France who comes by by chance (and I know this is the case regularly ;-)) can give us reliable information, we are interested.
As a joke, I illustrate all this with the collector's announcement of September 27, 2013.
Question: Who is already selling their invitation on eBay for € 30? (see ad)
It is therefore confirmed, the grand opening party of the LEGO Store at Disney Village will take place from January 14 to 19, 2014 as indicated in the invitation above.
I would point out that the LEGO Store is indeed in the Disney Village, a set of shops, cinemas, restaurants, etc ... which is accessible free of charge. It is not necessary to purchase a ticket allowing entry to one of the site's two parks to access it.
The mechanics are the same as for opening all other LEGO Stores:
The first 500 visitors with this invitation will receive a gift. The stock is limited.
During the three days of the operation, the first 300 customers to spend more than 40/55 € will receive an exclusive gift and the gift will be different each day (Usually a t-shirt, a set of three minifigs and the exclusive set 3300003-1 LEGO Brand Store).
(Thanks to republicattak for the photo)
The soap opera has never ended since the construction accident which saw the false ceiling of the future LEGO Store in Disney Village collapse last September.
Several times postponed, the opening is now scheduled for the end of December (the 30th normally).
As stated on the forum Disney central plaza, Store employees will begin training on December 20 and then set up the store as of December 23.
The photo of the progress of the work above was published on facebook on December 3 by InsideDLParis.
I'll be at Disneyland right after Christmas, but a priori too early to be able to go for a walk in this LEGO Store that we are promised as the largest in Europe.
If you have any other information to share on the topic, feel free to comment.
3rd French LEGO Store to open its doors, this new space of the brand covers 170 m2 within the grounds of the Grand Carré Jaude, the brand new extension of the Jaude Center. On site, no less than 12 salespeople are at the service of the numerous customers present, a sales team undoubtedly reinforced for the opening and the end of year celebrations before a return to "normal" pace.
No specific offer for the opening, no exclusive set 3300003-1 LEGO Brand Store or collector's pack of 3 minifigs as was the case during the previous inaugurations in Lille (Center comemrcial Euralille) and Levallois-Perret (So Where is).
Obviously the current offers of Store Calendar end of year apply (See this article).
Architecturally, no surprise, this store is identical to other LEGO Stores.
The Disney Village LEGO Store, which will cover 600 m2, should open its doors in mid-December.
A big thank you to JP Kiwi who was there and who kindly sent me info and photos
