We remain in the world of LEGO books with two new books to be published in April 2021 now listed at Amazon.

The first of these two books, entitled Lego life hacks (11.05 €), will be a collection of everything that you have more or less already seen on the internet in recent years in terms of supports for smartphones, pencil holders or cable storage system based on LEGO bricks or minifigs. The publisher promises to provide detailed instructions for the fifty or so ideas gathered in the 128 pages of the book:

Get ready to hack your life, LEGO style! This book is bursting with more than 50 amazing ideas to streamline your life and accessorize your space. From a nifty device to tie water balloons, a speaker that amplifies your phone, and cool gadgets to blitz your boring chores, these creative ideas will inspire you to use your LEGO bricks in amazing new ways. With easy to follow step-by-step instructions and handy hacks for further building, this book will take your builds to the next level

The second book entitled LEGO Star Wars Yoda's Galaxy Atlas is online without illustrative visuals for the moment but with a description which announces a guided tour of what the LEGO Star Wars range offers in creatures, planets and characters.

It will therefore probably be yet another catalog of official visuals accompanied by a few facts and other anecdotes. There is no indication for the moment that this book will be accompanied by a minifigure (exclusive or not) but the price of 15.45 € announced by Amazon lets me suppose that this will not be the case. To check when uploading the first visuals:

Let LEGO® Yoda introduce you to all the amazing planets, creatures, and aliens of a brick-built galaxy far, far away.

Wonderful place, the galaxy is. Amazing planets and incredible aliens, you will find. Much to learn, you still have. Show you, I will ....

With Jedi Master Yoda as your tour guide, visit the incredible planets in the LEGO Star Wars galaxy. Meet brave heroes, villainous characters, and fascinating creatures - and learn all about the Star Wars galaxy along the way!

lego ideas adult book vote afols ameet publishing

Do you like having the impression of influencing the choices of LEGO by voting for a project, a set or in this specific case a book? If so, this new operation will allow you to make your voice heard on the choice of a new book presented as specifically intended for AFOLs (acronym for Adult Fan Of LEGO).

The manufacturer offers you this time to choose between three different themes. It's up to you to choose the subject that interests you the most: The LEGO Brick Museum which should retrace the history of the group and its products in a preliminary manner, The Secret Life of LEGO Bricks which will provide some more or less interesting facts about the brand's star product and LEGO History in 100 Bricks which will summarize the highlights of the LEGO epic through emblematic elements that have marked fans.

I participated in the preliminary discussions around this project and the themes set out above were submitted to us along with a few others with the possibility for all the participants to express an opinion on the potential of each of them. The three projects presented are those which had a priori attracted the most participants, even in the absence of precise information on the final editorial content.

Make no mistake about it, despite their three very different titles, it is certain that all these works have a large amount of content in common, it is especially on the form that this content will be adapted according to the theme that it is. will prevail. If LEGO boasts a bit of having worked "closely" with the AFOL community on this project, I think we just have to be content to evoke a "discussion" with a few members of the community who have had only an advisory opinion. It is LEGO who manages, who chooses and who decides.

The voting sequence that will determine the selected project will be open until August 9. The project that has gathered the most support will then be put online during the month of September on the crowdfunding platform. specialized in Unbound Edition and it will be necessary as is always the case when it comes to through crowdfunding commit to purchasing the book in advance without knowing what it will actually contain on arrival.

Additional exclusive bonuses will be offered to those who want to participate in the fundraising campaign and during preliminary discussions, LEGO confirmed that nothing was excluded: minifigs, sets, etc ... It will therefore be necessary to watch these rewards not to miss a truly original and exclusive product which deserves to be encumbered with yet another book to the glory of the brand. Note also that each person who participated in the fundraising campaign will see their name appear on the back of the book.

More information about the campaign at this address, the voting interface is on its side at this address.

LEGO Ninjago Character Encyclopedia New Edition

The Ninjago universe will be entitled to an update of its character encyclopedia in March 2021 with a new version of the work already published in 2012 and then in 2016.

As with each new edition, this non-exhaustive 224-page encyclopedia will bring together a selection of around 200 characters with various anecdotes and others. facts. The book can also be useful for minifig collectors who would like to know which set a specific version of a character appears in.

We know from the provisional cover above that the book will be accompanied by an exclusive minifigure which has not yet been unveiled. No trace of a French version of the work on amazon, it will probably be necessary to be satisfied with the English version.

This new version entitled LEGO Ninjago Character Encyclopedia New Edition is already in preorder at amazon for a little less than 20 €. You will also find the two previous editions there along with their respective exclusive minifigs: Jay in his outfit Techno Silverstone and a copy of Starfarer for the 2016 version and Lloyd ZX (Green Ninja) with the 2012 edition:

Lego gear bots

If you like activity books with a more or less educational vocation, know that the publisher Klutz offers this year the box "Lego gear bots", a 64-page book accompanied by 62 LEGO elements which will allow, from August 1, to assemble 8 different kinetic models and to discover the joys of transmission by cranks, axles and other cams.

Those who have heard of the LEGO FORMA set 81000 Koi or who own a copy of the animated carp marketed in 2018 via a crowdfunding campaign and then destocked in 2019 via the official online store will find here some mobile creatures in the same spirit.

Lego gear bots

The box contains only about sixty plastic pieces and pours a little into origami with a slew of paper elements that come to dress the different models offered. Everyone knows that paper is less resistant to the test of time and handling than plastic and it will therefore be necessary to be very careful and organized to be able to take advantage of the models offered in this new box beyond a first assembly.

This is not the first box of this type to be offered by this publisher, other similar products with a more or less questionable educational interest have been marketed in the past and I gave you my opinion in 2018 on the French version of one of these works accompanied by some parts.

There is undoubtedly something here to have a little fun for the youngest by discovering some mechanical principles, but the experience will cost you a little more than 23 euros. It's up to you.

LEGO Minifigure A Visual History New Edition

We will briefly talk again today about the book to be published next September and which so far logically generates more interest for the exclusive minifigure that accompanies it than for its editorial content: LEGO Minifigure A Visual History New Edition, an update of the book published in 2013 which will add new characters from ranges released since.

Amazon having updated the product sheet, we discover several examples of the different categories of minifigs that will be in the spotlight over the 256 pages with for each of them some information and anecdotes that make the book a reference to consult from time to time to relax more than an exhaustive dictionary of what LEGO has to offer in terms of minifigures.

Too bad that the publisher is content to publish "official" visuals in digital version rather than offering real photos for the most recent minifigs, it seems that the technical effort has only been made for the oldest minifigs . We can understand this decision, especially when it comes to not dwelling too much on the technical flaws linked to the increasing complexity of pad printing which make some of these recent minifigs a little less sexy in reality than they seem to be on. official visuals.

As for the prices currently charged for the various pre-order possibilities, the best offer is that of Amazon Germany which offers the book at 22.90 €. At Amazon France, it is currently necessary to pay 35.36 € and at Book Depository (which belongs to Amazon) the displayed price is 29.90 €.
