Although a collector at heart, I often consider myself a fervent defender of playability and modularity, values which in theory are at the heart of the LEGO concept but which for many ranges are lost somewhere between the notions of product derivative to expose and package of minifigs accompanied by some parts.
LEGO has uploaded a small unpretentious video sequence that in any case greatly interested my youngest 7-year-old son: the manufacturer is promoting the possibility of combining several sets from the Creator 2017 range, the references 31054 Blue Express (€ 4.99), 31055 Red Racer (4.99 €) and 31060 Airshow Aces (19.99 €).
These boxes are already individually 3 in 1 products, which therefore make it possible to assemble three different models with the same inventory. By combining the elements that make up the models in question, the possibilities are increased tenfold.
You will tell me that there is nothing here to whip a cat. And yet, I think that any initiative aimed at making it possible to further increase the playability of a product deserves to be highlighted, especially at a time when the contents of LEGO products often do not allow to assemble anything other than what is planned and becomes a simple pretext to tell or reproduce stories.
Not everyone has the talent of an experienced adult MOCeur and very often the limits of creativity stop at the doors of the safe or the drawer which contains the "bulk" resulting from the various boxes accumulated over time. Proposing solutions and allowing the youngest or at least creative among us to go a little further with a little guidance, this is also the role of the manufacturer.
That was my quarter of an hour "I think that the LEGO Creator range, alongside the Technic range and its secondary models, is one of the last to still truly defend the original values and concept of the LEGO product.".
- zelk : Not motorized and difficult to set up. For half...
- Mathieu : The station is beautiful! It would go well with the modular style hotel...
- crazybattle : It's well done... A beautiful set, no doubt...
- zelk : Quite successful, a few euros less would have been appreciated...
- Bebrasta : Quite convincing I would say. We even have the right to tile...
- Bebrasta : I find the result rather satisfactory, at least on display...
- Thund3R : Better than the old one, but no Droidoka in my home at the price...
- brickbangtheory : A nice batch but it will cost me less than the last...
- Banzaiman : Yeah, nice. The "fragile" side would make me hesitate......
- Siobann34 : Mazette, and my credit card which has already melted for series 1 😨😛...
