It is no longer worth presenting this talented MOCeur really inspired by the universe of Lord of the Rings, and they are currently not very numerous to offer creations on this theme. This should surely change with the official release of the range which will allow MOCeurs to stage the long-awaited minifigs ...
Blake's Baericks presents today a successful scene, which is full of details and finds to make it simply epic: This Nazgal ( ringwraith,Ulairi et Black rider) and its mount, commonly called Fell Beast ( Black wings, The Winged Messenger, winged Nazgal, Winged Steeds, Wraiths on Wings, Fell Rider of the Air et Black Rider of the Air) sits on its base amid the ragged corpses and dismembered minifigs. Moreover on MOC, Blake's Baericks really dismembered the minifig shameless ...
You absolutely have to go to Blake's Baericks flickr gallery where you can zoom in at will on the different views it offers ...
These photos will not send me to court, they do not have any watermark stating that they are confidential or preliminary. However, it is difficult to say if these are the final visuals of the boxes in the range. Here are 4 of the sets that will be marketed in 2012 in this Lord of the Rings range. As usual at LEGO, the design of the boxes is always very neat and makes you want to buy ...
9469 Gandalf Arrives
9470 Shelob Attacks
9473 The Mines of Moria
9474 The Battle Of Helm's Deep
Let's be honest, the minifigs in the LEGO Lord of the Rings line are pretty good, except maybe Gollum as far as I'm concerned.
But fortunately, the kings of custom are not impressed by the official production and JasBrick has some truly exceptional achievements at the moment.
The Rohan warrior is equipped with the Javelins available here and the dwarf is wearing a helmet from BrickForge available here and painted by JasBrick.
Dernhelm alias Éowyn disguised during the Battle of the Pelennor Fields is here equipped with a Viking helmet from Brick Forge that was painted.
The orc of Moria is equipped with a sword from BrickWarriors (See their offer) and the part that was originally silver has been repainted to give it that truly realistic look. The armor used is also from BrickWarriors. Note that you can get this armor at the little brick which distributes BrickWarriors products.
If you are a fan of JasBrick's work, go tell him on his flickr gallery. For those who do not yet know it, this will be the opportunity to discover many customs on very varied themes.
I'm doing what you are right now, past the excitement of the announcement, I spend my time scrutinizing the hundreds of images of the sets taken by the lucky ones who were able to attend the New York Toy Fair 2012 and I just saw myself. realize a little late that the set 9470 Shelob Attacks will have a nice functionality. No, it's not flick-fire missiles for once, but Shelob's ability to weave his web to imprison Frodo.
The box of the set presented shows a white canvas, but the real model exhibited at the show has a black thread coming out of Shelob's abdomen.
In fact this set still brings together a good number of essential elements: The ring, Gollum, Frodo and Samwise; and it guarantees good playability for the youngest who will be able to replay the film scene endlessly. The red grapple which a priori represents Shelob's sting (????) would deserve at least one other color ...
We can clearly see this feature in the photos taken by FBTB during the show, and you can see more in the flickr gallery dedicated to this set.
It's confirmed, the set 9674 The Orc Forge will include an identified Orc: Lurtz.
As shown in the visual of the box below from the presentation of the range at the New York Toy fair 2012, the set will contain three generic Mordor Orcs, an Isengard Uruk-Hai and Lurtz, the Orc specially created by Peter Jackson for the movie The Fellowship of the Ring and which does not appear anywhere in Tolkien's books. You even have to refer to the long version of the film to hear his name pronounced by Saruman ...
Note that this set is identified as hard to find for the US market and that it should be exclusively distributed by the Target chain of stores. Which probably means that for the French market, it should be an exclusive available at Toys R Us or La Grande Récré.
