About the new LEGO train wheels ...

If you like LEGO trains but don't like the new wheels provided for example in sets 71044 Disney Train and Station et 70424 Ghost Train Express, some employees of the LEGO group are now trying to convince us via the video below that it is nevertheless a beneficial development for everyone.

They tell us about the tests carried out which prove that the trains go faster thanks to a reduced friction of the new elements and that the battery benefits from a greater longevity, from the need to do without the small metal bars which were used until now to associate the wheels to allow children to assemble the bogies without having to call on an adult, reduction of production costs thanks to the elimination of metal elements, etc ...

We also learn that the new wheels are made of high-density bio-polyethylene, the ethanol-based material from the distillation of sugar cane already used for the leaves of the tree in the LEGO Ideas set. 21318 Treehouse, and that, according to tests performed by LEGO, these new wheels do not wear out faster than the old references.

I do not know if the fans who make an intensive use of their trains, in particular during the exhibitions organized in the four corners of France, will all agree with these arguments but I leave it to those who have already been able to test for a long time in situation these new elements to give us their opinion on the subject.
