LEGO today announces the grouping of all products intended for adult customers under a single name: LEGO Icons. Since the disappearance of the title LEGO Creator Expert, sets stamped 18+ were satisfied with this “minimum” age indication to identify the target clientele.
The new title will be used as a simple classification criterion from June 1, 2022 on the official online store and at various online retailers to group the products concerned, but it will only appear physically on the packaging from January 1, 2023. , when you can finally start collecting this "new" clearly identified range.
Only sets that are not already directly affiliated with an existing range will be affected by this new identification. Products from the Technic, Ideas or Architecture ranges will remain under their usual banner:
From June 1st, 2022, we will be uniting many of our adult focused LEGO® sets under the name LEGO® Icons to help our adult consumers easily to find new, immersive builds or models that link to their interests and passions, particularly when shopping or browsing online.
The name LEGO Icons will span all of our sets designed for older builders that are not already part of an existing LEGO theme such as LEGO® Technic, LEGO® Ideas or LEGO® Architecture. |
Want more? LEGO is teaming up with US retailer Target today to hold a vote between three LEGO IDEAS projects that had reached the required minimum of 10.000 backers but were then rejected in the review phase. The winner will see their creation become an official set.
This disguised draft leaves the power to the fans, so you need to vote for your favorite creation before May 31, 2022 if you want to see it end up on your shelves. You have the choice between the Working Mini Golf Course from LEGOParadise, the Viking Village of BrickHammer and the Marine Life by Brick Dangerous.
To vote, go to this address and follow the link to the voting interface after logging in to the LEGO IDEAS platform. The winner will be announced in August 2022, the set will be released one day and will be available on the official online store like any set in the LEGO IDEAS range.
