This is not to add that I am posting here the latest review of Artifex, namely that of the contents of the tin can sold by LEGO for the modest sum of $ 40 at the last Comic Con in San Diego and that I presented to you two weeks ago.
Obviously, as a good collector of Star Wars sets, I hastened to get it on eBay from a seller who is keen to make a little margin when he returns from the show. As a reminder, this limited edition consists of the Darth Maul in The Clone Wars version identical to the one distributed for some time in promotional bag (Reference 6005188), and some parts allowing to assemble a very ordinary mini speeder.
To tell the truth, I almost find that the box is more interesting than its contents, that is to say ...
This is certainly not the polybag of the century, especially since when you have one, you will have a hard time stacking Frodo's minifigs just for fun. The rest of the bag and in particular the barrel can be used to eventually dress a tavern, but overall, nothing to be ecstatic in front of this polybag just available exclusively at Toys R Us in the USA for 4.99 $.
In the meantime, you can still watch the Artifex video review and discover the joys of barbecue the Middle-earth way ...
While waiting for a hypothetical interpretation by LEGO of the BatWing in Nolan sauce, here is the version of velociraptor, a talented Taiwanese MOCeur who offers a whole series of vehicles inspired by the movie The Dark Knight Rises.
Classic tumbler, Tumblers in camouflage version with integrated rocket launcher or BatWing (aka The Bat), there is something for everyone with these achievements which are also presented on Cuusoo (BatWing here, Tumbler there). Velociraptor also offers on its Brichshelf gallery many exploded-view photos of his BatWing. The more daring will venture to try to reproduce it, even if the lack of inventory of the parts used makes things a little complicated in case of need of restocking on Bricklink.
It is beautifully executed, each machine can accommodate two minifigs at the controls, and LEGO cannot say that it lacked inspiration to justify not offering us these machines in official versions. The large number of existing Tumbler MOCs should give ideas to the brand's designers and put them on the design track.
The MOCeurs who have tried their hand at the exercise have all shown a lot of ingenuity to restore the curves of the vehicle as it appears in the film, relegating the System version of the set. 7888 The Tumbler: Joker's Ice Cream Surprise released in 2008 as a somewhat clumsy prototype ...
To discover these velociraptor MOCs from every angle, you have the choice: His Brickshelf gallery (Batwing & Tumbler) or dedicated topics at Pockyland (Batwing & Tumbler).
The set 9525 Pre Vizsla's Mandalorian Fighter appeared on the LEGO Shop UK and the official price is therefore 49.99 €. The product is not yet accessible via the catalog but it is possible to view the sheet concerning it using the direct link below: 9525 Pre Vizsla's Mandalorian Fighter.
For the record, with 50 €, we get 3 minifigs including a quite decent Pre Vizsla, a vessel in my opinion rather ordinary with somewhat disappointing features, I quote the description: "... Rotate the wings! ... Load the goods! ..."and we will have the joy of having a rotating cockpit, a retractable landing gear and even a cargo hatch ....
It is certainly not the essential set of this wave, but we will be satisfied ...
The good news first: the set 6873 Spider-Man's ™ Doc Ock ™ Ambush has just appeared on the LEGO Shop US at a pretty decent price of $ 29.99.
3 minifigs, 295 parts including a vehicle and a lab, all for $ 30, I say that we would almost be entitled to a good deal for a licensed set ...
The bad news then: It is not yet on the LEGO Shop FR, and if we take into account the exchange rate applied by the manufacturer, this set should cost us disbelievers members of the Euro zone between 30 and 35 €. However, to check in a few days / weeks when the set in question will appear in our regions.
