Someone had to stick to it and it's up to Groovybones that honor returns: Here is the Fellowship of the Ring in version Lego classic, and even if some will prefer these minifigs to the original ones with head and hands in Light flesh, I remain skeptical.
Obviously, we find here the traditional side of our LEGO minifigs, but we lose the interpretation of the Lord of the Rings license which is based on the conversion of faces and costumes of actors in minifig format.
No, finally, I much prefer the official version of these minifigs. They embody the characters seen in the films and Elijah Wood, Sean Bean or even Orlando Bloom deserve their heads in Light Flesh ...
LEGO marketing is in full swing right now with this rather amusing recreation of the Lord of the Rings saga. Below is Chapter 1 of this wacky rereading of Tolkien's saga.
It is superbly done, faithful in outline to the original work (more or less ...), filled with cartoony references and delirious anachronisms and it is well worth a look.
Patrick Begin, LEGO Ambassador of his state, distills on QueLUG some interesting statistics about LUGs and their distribution globally.
Let us first recall what a LUG is, a LEGO User Group, that is to say a gathering or a fan club sometimes in associative form or more simply around a site or a forum and which participates in '' one way or another to the promotion of the LEGO brand in its direct environment (online or geographic). If a LUG is active enough, then the manufacturer will integrate it into various promotional programs.
There are 160 LUGs in the world, which bring together approximately 130.000 members. The geographical distribution of LUGs is to the advantage of North American continent, home to 68% the number of LUGs. Next comes theEurope with 30%then Asia with only 2% existing LUGs worldwide.
But where the statistics are surprising is when we learn that 78% of the 130.000 members are part of the 2% of Asian LUGs. 18% of the total registered members are in Europe and only 4% in North America.
We also learn that 300 events are organized globally every year. Not all of them are large-scale exhibitions, but each event obviously plays a role in promoting the brand through the know-how of the AFOLs who exhibit their creations.
50% of these events are organized in North America, 37% in Europe and only 13% in Asia.
Difficult to draw any conclusion whatsoever on these figures which are only the reflection of neutral and binary statistics. But we can easily see the importance of the community located in Asia (78%), and the grouping of these LEGO fans around only a few structures, but very large (2% of LUGs). For its part, the North American continent welcomes 76 local LUGs which have only a few members (4%). However, these LUGs are obviously very active and organize half of the demonstrations which take place around the globe every year.
L'Europe as for it represents one third of global LUGs within which are distributed a priori a fifth fans of the planet. No statistics by European country are available, but France seems to have only a few thousand active members in the various LUGs present (Festbriques, FanaBriques, FreeLUG, SeTechnic, BricTechnic, etc.), according to the calculations that the 'we can do with the data we have (active users on the various forums, etc ...)
There is no question here of relaunching the debate here on the interest of having dozens of LUGs composed of a few members rather than a single national scale and which would bring together a large community capable of structuring itself within it, according to the different currents. or the different affinities involved. The 4% of Americans and Canadians registered in a large number of different LUGs are among the most active on the planet and organize a host of events whose notoriety is worldwide ...
Le mini-site dedicated to the Marvel Super Heroes range has been updated with a visual announcing the official release of the set 6873 Spider-Man's Doc Ock Ambush as of August 1, 2012.
We will therefore be entitled to the three minifigs already known: Spider-Man, Iron Fist & Doctor Octopus.
LEGO takes the opportunity to add a brief presentation of the set:
Scheming Doctor Octopus has captured Iron Fist and is conducting experiments on him, trying to steal his superpowers. Help Spider-Man sneak in through the air vent and swoop down on Doc Ock to release Iron Fist! Then stop the wicked doctor from fleeing on his missile-firing car!
Roughly speaking, Octopus has captured Iron Fist and is experimenting to steal his superpowers. Spider-Man will have to enter Doc Ock's lab through the ventilation ducts in order to free Iron Fist and prevent Octopus from battling his missile vehicle ....
An entire program...
Come on, more cars, it's the season of the zero-interest loan and the special series "Les Bleus" (or not ...), so I offer you another Batmobile, this time inspired by the animated series which bears the very explicit name of Batman: The Animated Series.
Obviously, _Tile Amazes us once again with this mini Batmobile immediately recognizable with its collected line and its slender appearance and she referred me to my old articles to find the version (see photo below), much larger and therefore more detailed of BaronSat, MOCeur whose creations I adore on the Super Hero theme.
I send you back from elsewhere to the ticket in question with some of his Batmobiles and to his site on which you will find many achievements, each more successful than the next ....
