Small update of prices on Amazon for Star Wars 2012 novelties. Few changes these days. Return of Planet Series sets for less than 11 €, that's always taken. The Tie Fighter is currently at 50.99 €, it's not the deal of the century, but it's still cheaper than on the LEGO Shop. Note that the Y-Wing is not sold by Amazon directly but by a third party seller, which explains the price higher than the LEGO price ...
Regarding the Planet sets, if some of you have already ordered them from Amazon, take advantage of the comments to indicate whether you received them in good condition (planets scratched, damaged, etc ... or not) ...

Huw Millington (brick set) was at the park LEGOLAND Windsor (UK) to ensure the promotion of the next opening which will take place officially on March 16, 2012 and brought back some photos among which these magnificent wall frames containing the series of minifigs to collect.
When I saw these photos in the flickr gallery in question, a thought immediately occurred to me: Why are these frames not offered for sale so that we can present our minifigs other than with homemade DIY or in the ugly plastic lockers that we can buy at a gold price now (30 € for a box of 16 minifigs ... that leaves you dreaming)? Admit that it looks good ...
Here are the official LEGO prices for sets from the Marvel range that are already on pre-order from the UK. For information, these prices are not the result of the £ / € conversion but of a simple manipulation: You click on the set on the LEGO Shop UK and then you change the country. The price is then displayed in € and LEGO obviously tells you that you cannot yet order this set in France.
I put you below the official names of the sets in French, history of ...
6865 Captain America's Revenge ™ - € 14.99
6866 Wolverine ™ Helicopter - € 27.99
6867 Loki's Escape ™ - € 27.99
6868 The Hulk ™ Helicarrier Escape - € 59.99
6869 Air combat in a Quinjet - € 89.99
4529 Iron Man ™ - € 15.99
4530 The Hulk ™ - € 15.99
4597 Captain America ™ - € 15.99
Let's talk little, let's talk well. You already know, I think that the Francophonie is struggling within the AFOL community. The biggest sites are English-speaking, the biggest exhibitions with the most media take place abroad and LEGO sometimes does not even seem to know that there is a large community of dynamic AFOLs in France, Switzerland, Belgium and Luxembourg. enthusiasts, so we are excluded from communication plans, promotions and other exclusives.
To come back to what interests us here, it is clear that very few books devoted to the LEGO universe are published in French. The only magazines dedicated to the LEGO world are also in English or Spanish, readership potential requires ...
Today, an initiative is changing the game with the French translation of the book by John Baichtal and Joe Meno: The Cult of LEGO who becomes LEGO Culture. If you follow the blog, you already know what I think about this book, I was telling you about it in this article in November 2011. This is obviously a personal opinion, but the stakes go far beyond my opinion.
This book, despite the flaws that I find in it, is a mine of information for all LEGO fans, big and small, true enthusiasts or simple amateurs, collectors, MOCeurs, children, parents, etc ... In 300 pages, the essential is there.
The publisher who is in charge of the project has already announced that a basic edition (no goodies, soft cover, no jacket) will be released in the fall of 2012. But as we are elitist collectors, we need a version collector, exclusive, just for us ...
And precisely, this collector's edition is in the boxes. The project is launched, but it works in the form of a subscription which will make it possible to collect the budget so that the 500/1000 copies of the Luxury version are published. A minimum of 250 firm orders are required to start the press. The price is set at € 39.90. It is a correct price considering the exclusivity of the product, no doubt about it.
Think about it and tell yourself that this first initiative can open the door to future projects of the same ilk. We could pave the way for more books in French, more beautiful books translated so that everyone can benefit from them, even the youngest KFOLs who are too often condemned to look at the images because they cannot understand the text ...
I ordered my copy, and it is important to note that if the Luxe version project does not succeed, the sums invested will be refunded to the subscribers. On this subject, and for the attention of the youngest, there is no risk with this project: The editor is serious and ulule.com is a recognized project funding site.
For more information, please visit the project page at ulule.com, everything is detailed, explained at length ...
39.90 € is a substantial sum: A good set, a few minifigs, a video game ... But it is also the price to pay to offer you a French copy of this book, which will remain alongside your collection , like other collector's items ...
A good license is a license that pays big. With Star Wars, no worries, the rule is respected.
Topp's, which makes tons of merchandise, is launching a new series of 240 Star Wars-themed playing and collectible cards. Obviously, LEGO was hanging around the corner and therefore renewed partnership with Topp's to insert some limited edition cards in the starter kits with special guest Darth Maul.
A series Force Attax Clone Wars has already been marketed with a special card of Yoda's LEGO minifigure as a bonus.
