To simplify everyone's life and because these minifigs deserve to be examined from every angle to get an idea, here they are in close-up. Click on the images to view a large version.
The first reactions read here and there on the internet are very positive. Even Gollum found his audience ...
As soon as the new 2012 products are available, a 3in1 Super Pack already appears under the reference 66411. It is for sale on eBay froma german seller with a starting price of 80 € and contains the following references:
9488 - ARC Trooper & Commando Droid Battle Pack
9489 - Endor Rebel Trooper & Imperial Trooper
9495 - Gold Leader's Y-Wing Starfighter (Exclusive)
One wonders why LEGO has chosen to group together sets that have no real relation to each other, even if this type of pack is an excellent opportunity for a gift to give to a young LEGO fan who is starting his collection.
The inventor of the Moodland Scale aka M00DSWIM returns with two beautiful creations: Wolverine and the Terminator T-800.
In both cases, the end result is impressive and this scale allows a clever diversion of the parts. System of their primary use. Over the MOCs presented by M00DSWIM, I adhere more and more to its concept and am surprised each time by the ingenuity and inventiveness implemented to obtain these figurines.
If you follow Hoth Bricks you already know this gentleman's work, if you don't go to his flickr gallery to discover his many creations in the Star Wars universe.
LEGO distills the visuals of the Lord of the Rings range in a dropper and now offers a poster of Gollum, rather disappointing for my taste with his alien head escaped from area 51, and two boards featuring the characters of the Fellowship of the Ring ™ already seen at the London Toy Fair 2012 to which are added an Uruk-Hai, a Moria Orc, a Mordor Orc and a Ringrwaith.
The Uruk-Hai's armor is successful, a small silkscreen wouldn't hurt. The two Orcs have pretty chests, the faces are also very consistent, only the hair leaves me a little doubtful. As for the Ringrwaith, nothing fancy, grab your Star Wars minifigs and do it yourself.
We will weigh these visuals which are in fact 3D renderings of the minifigs concerned and not the real plastic minifigs. their situation is different from what will be possible, especially in terms of poses, movements of the arms and legs, with the plastic versions that I am waiting to see to confirm or deny my first impressions.
Note also the difference in design between the two versions of Gollum. That of the poster is obviously over-styled to attract customers. That of the character board is downright pathetic .... Even the 1999 Sebulba (7171 Mos Espa Podrace) is more credible.
It is also confirmed that all the hobbits will be styled like Elijah Wood aka Frodo Baggins in the movie.
Some did not wait to stage the characters and the machines of the game 3866 Battle of Hoth which is arguably the most anticipated of the entire line of board games made in lego.
Microfigs and micro-machines are obviously suitable for this type of exercise and RDL offers some interesting visuals that will convince you to buy this set, even if you are not fans of this type of game, which is my case.
No doubt about it, this set will allow a certain revival of the Star Wars diorama on an unusual scale and I must admit that these microfigs are really very photogenic ...
