LEGO FORMA 81000 Koi

Remember, in september 2018, LEGO launched the LEGO FORMA concept via the Indiegogo crowdfunding platform. This product made it possible to assemble a plastic carp and then make it undulate by turning the crank placed on the base of the construction. The crowdfunding campaign was then geographically limited to the USA and the UK.

The and LEGO FORMA 81000 Koi (293 pieces - £ 42.99 - 50 €) is now for sale on the official LEGO store but only in the UK and, contrary to what is said here and there, there will be no extension of this marketing to other countries. It's destocking, LEGO having decided to definitely throw in the towel on this project.

If you want a copy of this box, you should now be able to treat yourself on Ebay ou on Bricklink at prices a little less hallucinating than those charged so far by the "investors" who had participated in the initial campaign.

The extensions proposed during the crowdfunding campaign and which allow to dress the structure based on Technic elements to obtain two variants of carp and even a shark (81002 Splash Koï, 81003 Ink Koï and 81001 Shark Skin) are not, however. not for sale directly from LEGO, so they are always sold for gold in the secondary market.

LEGO FORMA 81000 Koï: instructions are available

Remember, a few months ago LEGO launched a pre-order campaign on the crowdfunding platform Indiegogo for the LEGO FORMA 81000 Koi set.

This small box of 294 pieces allows you to assemble a mobile carp and the manufacturer offered as an option three different skins to change the breed of carp or to transform the structure into a shark.

These products were then only available in the USA and UK and many fans resident in other countries could not get this mobile carp presented as a "Premium experience for adults"...

LEGO now provides the assembly instructions for the 81000 Koï set and even offers two templates to cut out the different parts that make up the "skin" of the carp model and the shark version yourself. It's up to you to find the right material for these wrappings and to take out your colored pencils to try to reproduce the official version ...

For all practical purposes, I would like to point out that you will need to find a way to fix the different parts of the skin of the fish in question without the 31 pins (LEGO ref. 6271188) created especially for the occasion by the manufacturer. The more creative among you will find a way, perhaps using pins 6628 in Light Bluish Gray...

LEGO FORMA 81000 Koi

Prepare yourself, LEGO announces "the Premium experience for adults"with a new product called LEGO FORMA featuring ... a carp (ref. LEGO 81000 Koï).

The concept is simple, you open the box, you assemble the fish and its base using the 294 pieces provided, you decorate it using one of the four flexible plastic covers included, you play with it a bit. by making it undulate thanks to the mechanism based on Technic parts and you put it on the chest of drawers in the living room. To put it simply, it's like the dancing fish to hang on the wall but you are the one who reels. If with all this you are not "reconnected with your creative mind", I can do nothing more for you.

Note that the concept has been tested with a number of adult fans and employees of the LEGO group but that the manufacturer still intends to limit the risks by submitting the idea on the Indiegogo crowdfunding platform, just to see if the sauce really takes.

Bad news for those who wanted to afford a copy of the thing at a preferential rate, the current campaign only concerns the USA and UK with a minimum target of 500 pre-sold copies. LEGO plans an overall circulation of 20.000 boxes if the campaign is successful.

As usual, you can get the thing on eBay or Bricklink as soon as LEGO delivers the first backers (early 2019) who will then be happy to resell you the set with a small margin. The success of this geographically limited crowdfunding campaign is therefore guaranteed, but perhaps not for the reasons hoped by LEGO ...

LEGO FORMA 81000 Koi

Price of the set accompanied by the four skins during the crowdfunding campaign: € 75 instead of € 96. LEGO also markets the basic carp with a single skin priced at € 39 instead of € 47, each of the three additional skins (two variants of carp, 81002 Splash Koï and 81003 Ink Koï, and a shark - 81001 Shark Skin) including the one that can be colored, being sold for the modest sum of ... 14 €.

In the box, LEGO also delivers a series of Technic pins that are currently exclusive to this set, specially designed to hold the skins on the skeleton of the fish. These connectors are also supplied with each retail trim.

This concept is just the first of a whole series of new ideas that LEGO intends to bring to the appreciation of its potential customers over the coming months.

I would have been told that it was a LEGO Ideas set at 29.99 €, I might have said why not ... But at 75 € a box, my creative spirit will express itself differently and for many cheaper.

LEGO Star Wars BrickHeadz 41627 Luke & Yoda

LEGO has just unveiled three new references from the BrickHeadz range with four iconic characters from the Star Wars saga.

The Duo Pack 41627 (14.99 € - 215 pieces) will allow you to assemble Yoda and Luke Skywalker and the two other sets (9.99 €) will offer collectors the minifigures of Leia (ref. LEGO 41628 - 124 pieces) and Boba Fett (ref. LEGO 41629 - 161 pieces).

Note that the Boba Fett minifigure is different from the one seen in the exclusive pack (LEGO ref. 41498 sold) during the latest New York Comic Con.

I pass on the three classic characters, but I must admit that this little Yoda tempts me well ...

LEGO BrickHeadz - 41597 Go Brick Me
When you have a concept, you might as well wring it out to the end. After the BrickHeadz in all sauces and in all ranges, you will soon be able to recreate yourself using the set 41597 GO BRICK ME whose availability is announced for April 1st.

You will have 708 parts that should logically allow you to assemble something similar. The idea is original, especially to give a gift to a fan who already has almost everything in his collection, but the announced US public price of $ 29.99, which should translate into around thirty euros for us, will probably dissuade them. more than one.
