VIP points will be doubled from December 10 to 12, 2021 on the official online store and in the LEGO Stores. Those who have had the patience to wait until then will be able to accumulate double points on their purchases and use them later to obtain a small reduction on their future orders.

As we have said and repeated, this is not the offer of the century, it only allows you to accumulate twice as many points to use on a future order and this is not an immediate reduction. For each product purchased, you will therefore accumulate double points during the period indicated and you will then have to exchange these points for a reduction voucher to be used on a future purchase via the rewards center. 750 VIP points accumulated give the right to a reduction of 5 € valid for a future order on the official online store or during a trip to a LEGO Store.

A little reminder to all those who want to try to win the million VIP points put into play by LEGO on the rewards center on the occasion of Black Friday 2021: each entry is free and does not require spending your precious points. You can participate once a day until November 29 and the endowment involved represents a budget of € 6667 to be spent on the official online store or in the LEGO Stores via the exchange of points. Be careful, there are in fact four million points to be won in total, one million is put into play every day during the operation. In 2020, three Americans and one French won.

Only members of the VIP program resident in eligible countries defined by the regulations can participate: France, Switzerland, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Hungary, Ireland, United Kingdom, USA and Canada (outside Quebec). The draw will take place on 03/12/2021.

Today we are talking about the LEGO plate again 5007016 VIP 1950's Retro Tin currently offered until November 25 at LEGO from 250 € of purchase: I received my order placed during the VIP weekend and I was surprised to discover the object in two copies in the box. I said to myself that it would be fashionable to share it with a reader of the site and to briefly present the thing to you in passing.

As we suspected, the product is made by Chinese company RDP like all other metal key rings already offered through the VIP program. The finish is not bad if we admit that it is a simple promotional product that mimics vintage enamel signs: the printing is correct, without smudges or stains. The plate comes in a paper case which could have been a little sexier, for example a canvas bag with a lace at the end. Nothing is provided on the back to hang the object on the wall, it will be necessary to be creative with for example a double-sided adhesive or simply to expose this plate of 30 x 15 cm resting on something.

It is not in my eyes the derivative product of the year, even if the initial idea is rather interesting. A simple minifigure associated with the effigy for example of Ole Kirk Christiansen would have been enough to transform this award into a truly desirable LEGO product. As it stands, it's still taken for those who had planned to take advantage of the doubling of VIP points on the Shop to afford one of the rare products exclusive to the official online store still in stock. The minimum amount to spend to get this plaque, € 250 with no range restriction, is arguably a bit high compared to the actual value of the product and it's a safe bet that a lot of customers have stopped at the lower tier of 170. € which allowed to obtain a copy of the set 40484 Santa's Front Yard.

Personally, I prefer that LEGO give me LEGO for my LEGO purchases. Even the worst polybags are enough to satisfy me where a product perhaps more elaborate but a little off topic often leaves me unmoved. To each his own perception of the thing, I know that this plaque will delight some fans as decoration on the walls of their Lego room.

As specified above, I received the object in two copies, so I put one in game. Deadline fixed at November 27, 2021 next at 23pm. (Banana Man for scale, the minifigure is not provided)

Lego announced last september the implementation of a test phase concerning the extension of the VIP program to LEGO Certified Stores, franchised stores managed by the Italian company Percassi. It's the Certified Store de Créteil-Soleil which had been selected for this test and it is now possible to use your VIP card there as in any "real" LEGO Store, with a few details.

It is therefore currently possible to accumulate VIP points, to use them during your purchases, to take advantage of promotional offers linked to the program and to register directly in-store for this loyalty program if not not already done.

However, it is not possible to use your points if you do not have the physical card or its digital version at the checkout, employees of this Certified Store not having the ability to search for you in the regular database of VIP program members.

There is no point in generating a coupon online via the VIP rewards center if you intend to make your purchases in this shop: these coupons are not accepted, you will have to indicate that you wish to use your points directly at the checkout.

We do not know how long this full-scale test will last and LEGO warned last September that there is currently no question of generalizing the integration of the VIP program to others. Certified Stores. We will have to wait for the manufacturer and its partner in charge of managing these franchised stores to learn the first lessons from this first test phase to find out more.

Evil tongues will say that the offer has not found its audience, that the product in question is not very "motivating" or that the minimum amount to take advantage of it is too high, and they will undoubtedly be right: The plaque retro (5007016 VIP 1950's Retro Tin) offered this weekend from € 250 purchase will finally be added to the basket at least until November 25, just before the launch of the LEGO Star Wars set 75313AT-AT (€ 799.99) and Black Friday 2021 offers. We can also imagine that customers have a little trouble filling their basket on this VIP weekend and reaching the required amount with some very popular boxes that are currently out of stock such as sets 10294 Titanic (€629.99), LEGO Ideas 21330 Home Alone House (249.99 €) or even LEGO DC 76240 Batman Batmobile Tumbler (229.99 €).

We also note that the other product offered under the condition of purchase, the set 40484 Santa's Front Yard automatically added to the basket from 170 € of purchase, is still not out of stock, but LEGO had planned to offer this box again next weekend.
