LEGO 40462 Valentine's Brown Bear

Today we are very quickly interested in the traditional little LEGO set for Valentine's Day, the reference 40462 Valentine's Brown Bear (245coins - € 14.99), which this year takes the form of a teddy bear on its base and a few very red hearts.

If you hope to please someone by giving him this little box, make sure you have a nice bouquet of flowers, a real quality plush or a box of chocolates, I am not sure that this set does not demonstrate another something your all-consuming passion for LEGOs.

We therefore assemble a teddy bear to put on a base that hides the I ♥ U mention by default but you can obviously put whatever you want inside, there is room. Why not, as long as you offer the product already assembled to maintain the effect. Otherwise, it's a failure, the person who will receive the set will have to assemble the little message themselves.

The presentation base is dressed in a little greenery and a central checkerboard on which you can install the bear. The three hearts are vaguely suspended thanks to the use of transparent parts, the effect is there. I note in passing that the base cover is securely plugged into its base and that it is very difficult to remove it without breaking everything. Too bad for a product which in theory should allow access to the hidden message without having to reassemble a part after the fact.

Regulars to the BrickHeadz range will be in familiar territory when it comes to assembling the teddy bear: there are some techniques usually used for cubic figurines with a central trunk dressed in a few pieces that give a vague fur effect. The limbs and the head of the animal give the object a little volume and the whole is in the end almost cute. The rear legs are simply clipped on the trunk and they can only be a little apart or closer to the body of the animal. The arms are more mobile but they do not hold in the raised position.

I am not sure that this product is worth spending € 15 on it with the aim of making a strong impression on February 14, at the risk of sounding like a monotask enthusiast who does not know how to offer anything other than LEGOs as soon as the opportunity presents itself. The thing is assembled in five minutes flat and the message hidden under the plate of the base is a little too crude to be credible. You even take the risk that the person to whom you would like to give this set thinks that you added the message in a hurry just to give them Lego.

By raising the walls of the base of a row of bricks, it should probably be possible to line up a few chocolates inside which would allow the pill to pass and the level to be raised a little. For the rest, in my opinion, this is a dispensable set that everyone will quickly forget and which would rather have deserved to have a short career of product offered on condition of purchase during the week of Valentine's Day .

Note: The set presented here, provided by LEGO, is as usual involved. Deadline fixed at 5th February 2021 next at 23pm. "The" I try, I participate "are automatically deleted, make an effort.

Update : The winner was drawn and was notified by email, his nickname is indicated below. Without a response from him to my request for contact details within 5 days, a new winner will be drawn.
