Review: LEGO Brickheadz 40383 Wedding Bride & 40384 Wedding Groom

Today we quickly tour the LEGO Brickheadz sets 40383 Wedding Bride (306 pieces - 12.99 €) & 40384 Wedding Groom (255 pieces - € 12.99), two sets based on the same principle as the set 41597 GB Brick Me marketed in 2018 which already made it possible to customize a figurine.

Admitting that we are a fan of the format of these cubic figurines, I must admit that it is rather well done. In each box, you will find something to assemble several versions of the groom and the bride, so that the two characters look more or less like their "human" versions.

You have three skin tones, three heads of hair, two suits, a hat and a pair of glasses for the groom. Same assortment for the bride, without the hat or the costume variants. The only two pad-printed pieces in these boxes are the groom's gray jacket to integrate into the suit of your choice and the lace of the bride's dress on a white background. Even though I've put a mustache on the versions I'm showing you here, you can put a face together without this element for the groom.

The instruction booklets are well designed with clear directions on what to assemble or replace based on the character's skin or hair color and what accessories will come to equip the figure. It is not possible to replace the skin or hair without disassembling some of the sub-assemblies of the previous figure, the inventory is quite extensive but not to the point of allowing instant modification of each figure.

It is also possible to customize the groom's buttonhole, which has the choice of a black or dark blue suit, and to accessorize the bride's dress by changing the decorations of the dress, the veil and the bouquet.

The body of the figurines is identical to that of most of the products in the range with a dressing that takes place around the guts and the brains of the characters. Too bad the bases provided are not white to better integrate with the whipped cream of the mounted piece.

You have the right to lose or forget alliances, LEGO provides three per box.

A note on the glasses: I know that we are here in a theme where almost everything is square and the glasses provided are no exception to the rule. Despite everything, I remain convinced that a pair of round glasses would make it possible to offer a less "aggressive" possibility of customization than the version delivered here, the principle of these boxes being to allow to stick as close as possible to the real version of the people reproduced. .

The two figures are sold separately, so you can also combine two bride and groom or two brides, it's up to you. You still have to agree to spend € 25.98 to afford two minifigures to plant at the top of the mounted piece, but when you love LEGOs, you don't count for a long time.

In short, we are probably more here in the "lifestyle" product than in the collectible figurine and it will still be necessary to make sure that your partner accepts to see these two cubic characters enthroned at the top of the cake which cost you an arm.

Nothing is less certain, the Brickheadz figures are already not unanimous among fans of LEGO and probably even less among those who do not necessarily want to replace the usual small characters by these piles of bricks a little coarse. It would be a shame to argue over that on your wedding day.
