Today we are very quickly interested in the contents of the LEGO Harry Potter set 76424 Flying Ford Anglia, a small box of 165 pieces sold at the public price of €14.99 since March 1, 2024. The vehicle is a chestnut from the LEGO Harry Potter range, it is sold here alone in an even improved version which should easily find its audience.

An ever more accomplished body, a lighter color and an overall more convincing design with the possibility of installing two minifigs in the passenger compartment, this version is a real notable evolution in the adaptation of the vehicle. There remains the usual problem of slightly dull pad printing on the doors which breaks the line of the car, but we will make do with it for lack of anything better.

LEGO also manages to impose on us some stickers for the license plates and the dashboard, it's a shame in a set like this which focuses exclusively on the vehicle and which could have done it with a little more panache (and pad printing).

Harry Potter and Ron Weasley can therefore be installed in the vehicle, but you will have to raise their arms so that the figurines can hold in place. It's always better than nothing, once the doors are closed we no longer see that the two characters are in fact standing in the passenger compartment, the fault of the short, non-articulated legs used here. Hedwige can join the two young students in the car, Scabbers will have to make do with the trunk alongside the suitcase provided.

Fans will have a feeling of déjà vu when observing the minifigs provided, this is not the first time that LEGO has released the two characters in these outfits. These latter are evolutions of those already seen in other boxes, it is correctly executed and the most diligent collectors will perhaps appreciate adding variants to their display cases. The heads used are classics from the LEGO catalog, just like Hedwig and Scabbers.

This set won't revolutionize the genre, but it does tackle one thing and does it pretty well. It's an accessible entry point for any new Harry Potter fan, it provides four characters including two minifigures, and it offers a satisfying few minutes of assembly that results in a nice, arguably best-looking version of the on-screen vehicle to date. For €15, it's already very good.
