75293 Resistor I-TS Transportation

We are redoing the LEGO Star Wars range and today we are quickly interested in the content of the set 75293 Resistor I-TS Transportation (932 pieces - 99.99 €), a box which is a product derived from an attraction itself freely inspired by the Star Wars universe. Seen like this, one could doubt the interest of the product for a fan of the saga, but this set has at least for him to be one of the rare completely new innovations among the series of boxes marketed since last August 1st. .

The set is stamped with the mention Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, named after the attraction currently installed in the USA in the Walt Disney World Resort (Orlando) and Disneyland Resort (Anaheim) parks and which should arrive in France at the Walt Disney Studios park in Marne-la-Vallée between 2022 and 2025. It is a work of order on behalf of Disney which asked the manufacturers of toys to market products allowing to ensure the promotion of the thematic spaces Galaxy's edge.

Resistance I-TS Transport @ Star Wars Galaxy's Edge

The vessel in question here is indeed the entrance to the attraction Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. Visitors board the attraction through the ship's side door and are then attacked by a squad of Tie Fighters before the transporter is sucked into the tractor beam of a Star Destroyer.

Whatever the initial inspiration, the arrival of a new ship in the LEGO Star Wars range is in my opinion always a small event, especially for early collectors who see reissues and other remakes scrolling and who know how to appreciate new products offered from time to time. Here, we get a nice ship that borrows some of its attributes from Tantive IV and that's good for the overall consistency of the Star Wars universe and by extension the range of LEGO derivatives.

The machine is based on a solid structure based on Technic beams which in principle allows it to pretend to be a real solid toy and easily manipulated. The sub-assemblies which serve to give its final shape to the ship's cabin are well thought out even if a few plates held only by the short side of the classic blue pines will sometimes tend to come off afterwards. Even constant for the small steerable assemblies used to form the angles between the body of the ship and the cockpit, it's a bit fragile.

The editing is pleasant and even if there are some repetitive phases at the level of the growths of the cockpit, the cabin or the reactors, the designers knew how to avoid us being bored by simply changing the order of certain sequences. 'assembly. The reactors are visually very correct, and I can see anyone coming from here who will point out to me that they do not use barrels.

We quickly understand that this transport vessel will not be able to transport much, the space available inside is far from being as spacious as that of the model of the attraction which can accommodate "in real" a good thirty visitors. . Here, we can slip the box of weapons delivered in the box and possibly store the few minifigs provided. Although the interior space is quite limited, it remains easily accessible via the movable panels placed on the sides and the removable cover placed on the upper part of the cabin.

No landing gear under the cabin, but the vessel remains slightly elevated and does not rub on the ground thanks to the four pieces placed at the ends. The cockpit, accessible by lifting the movable cover, is far from being over-equipped with screens and other controllers, it only contains a simple sticker but leaves enough space to install one or two miniatures one behind the 'other. The canopy is blind, it is just a few transparent pieces placed on the front of the ship.

You will understand that the interior scale of the ship has nothing to do with its exterior appearance, but the compromise seems acceptable to me. Those who want to display it on a shelf can do so without leaving too much space and those who want to play with the machine can do so by agreeing to be content with the available interior space.

In terms of integrated weaponry, the designers were not stingy in Stud Shooters with no less than eight copies placed in groups of two at the ends of the vessel. The sticker sheet remains reasonable and it allows you to dress this carrier in the colors of the attraction visible in the Disney parks.

For those who are interested, the ship can be unlocked in the video game LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga via the code "SHUTTLE" mentioned in the instruction booklet.

On the side of the provided miniatures, we get two characters and two droids linked to the attraction. Vi Moradi, pilot and spy for the Resistance, is a character who is actually not exclusive to the attraction. Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, the young woman also appears in the novel Phasma then in a second work entitled Galaxy's Edge: Black Spire. It is moreover the only element of the set which has a real relation with the storyline from the Star Wars universe.

The minifigure is consistent with the various known representations of the character who is played by actress Alex Marshall-Brown in the video footage of the attraction. The hair with its colored tips is very successful with a pad printing which degrades very gradually towards black. There may be a few white patterns missing on the jacket arms to really match the character's outfit. The head used for this minifigure is also that of Jannah in the set 75273 Poe Dameron's X-wing Fighter marketed since the beginning of the year.

Lieutenant Bek, a communications officer on the ship, wears his stripes upside down on his chest. It's a shame, the designers could have made the effort to verify before launching production. For the rest, the minifigure conforms to the version of the character seen in the attraction and it reuses the usual mold of heads already seen on the shoulders of Admirals Ackbar and Raddus.

The astromech droid R5 also visible during the passage in the attraction is almost perfect, it just lacks the different red areas on the top of the dome, to believe that LEGO is having difficulty in pad printing around a post. For the rest, it is in accordance with the droid which controls the wagons of the (smiles.

The inventory is completed by a GNK droid (or Gonk Droid), present in the aisles of the thematic space Galaxy's Edge. Nothing crazy with this buildable droid, but we'll be happy with that.

There is even one important character missing in this box: it is Nien Nunb, the pilot of the ship in the attraction.

In short, this set brings a little freshness to the LEGO Star Wars range and in my opinion it is enough to justify our interest. Hooking up to the Star Wars universe via a simple attraction that is not even available in our regions may seem insufficient to many fans but the presence of Vi Moradi, a canon character present in other content, will incite without doubt some of them to add this box to their collection.

LEGO is asking a hundred euros for this set, a price which may seem high given the peripheral subject staged. We will therefore wait for at least a doubling of VIP points or a really attractive promotional offer on the official online store before cracking.

Note: The set presented here, supplied by LEGO, is as usual in play. Deadline fixed at September 11, 2020 next at 23pm.

Update : The winner was drawn and was notified by email, his nickname is indicated below. Without a response from him to my request for contact details within 5 days, a new winner will be drawn.
