Today we take a quick tour of the content of the LEGO Star Wars set 75347 Tie Bomber, a box of 625 pieces which will be available at the public price of €64.99 from January 1, 2023. We are not going to lie to each other, it is a pleasure to see this ship return to the range even if the set is not not excessive ambition with a TIE Bomber which is content with modest measurements: 20 cm wide by 15 cm long. The essential is however there with a very acceptable finish which logically returns the black and blue version of 2003 to the rank of prototype a little sloppy and too fragile.

The good news that should be mentioned without delay: there is not a single sticker in this box and all the patterned elements that you can see in the photos are therefore stamped. This TIE Bomber will better withstand the long bombing sessions of Mandalore as well as the years of exposure on the corner of a shelf, it is appreciable.

There is something very satisfying about the assembly of the two wings which are perfectly wedged and oriented once in place, the rest of the process only serves to reinforce the central structure with an overlap of plates on several levels. The vessel is also of irreproachable solidity with its central structure of maximum rigidity and its wings connected by three pins. Nothing comes off during manipulations except of course the four on-board yellow-headed missiles that must be pushed in mode flick fire from the open hatch provided on the top of the ship to unclip them and allow them to fall on their target. Simple but effective.

Both Stud shooters placed between the pods are nicely integrated and they are even a little forgotten while contributing to the general finish. This is not always the case depending on the products concerned and it will not be necessary to remove them to obtain here what could be a simple exhibition model. LEGO also provides enough to assemble a small ammunition cart with two additional missiles, a way of providing replacement parts for the youngest who have lost two of the four copies on board the ship without seeming to underestimate them too much.

Do not try to guess the presence of the pilot at the controls of the ship through the canopy of the cockpit, the latter is only decorative and it is plugged into a black background. Same observation on the other side of the ship with a Dish pad-printed which simply conceals the internal structure and offers only a suggested opening. It may lack a small support to be able to properly expose this ship between two gaming sessions, it only took a few Technic beams and the whole thing was well within the 65 € requested without burdening the manufacturer's margin. As it is, the Tie Bomber will rest on its wings.

As for the three minifigs delivered in this box, you have to deal with a mixture of new elements and rather common parts in the LEGO catalog. Darth Vader benefits here from a rather successful new face but is content to reuse the torso and legs already seen in several sets since 2020. The TIE Bomber pilot is new and nicely executed, collectors should find their account there and Rae Sloane (a character seen in some novels, comics and in the video game Star Wars: Squadrons) features a cute feminized torso flanked by vice-admiral's stripes.

The Gonk Droid is nothing very exciting, but at least it has the merit of using the case with the imperial patterns already seen in several sets since 2020.

In short, this TIE Bomber is welcome in our collections while waiting for a hypothetical version Ultimate Collector Series which would make it possible to pay him a more detailed and successful tribute. This mini version will largely do the job while waiting for better, it will just be necessary to wait a little so as not to have to spend the 65 € requested by LEGO and to have a chance to pay this luxury Microfighter a little cheaper elsewhere.

Note: The set presented here, provided by LEGO, is as usual involved. Deadline fixed at December 27, 2022 next at 23:59 p.m. Just post a comment under the article to participate. Your participation is taken into account regardless of your opinion.
