Today we quickly take a look at the contents of the LEGO Star Wars Starship Collection set 75377 Invisible Hand, a box of 557 pieces currently available at the public price of €52.99.

You know if you follow, this product takes advantage of the format Midi Scale seen for the first time at LEGO in 2009 then forgotten for a few years before returning to shelves in 2020 and being in the spotlight again this year with three new products.

In this box, we assemble General Grievous' ship and the designer has done his homework with particular attention to details and winks that will please fans: during assembly we come across the Jedi Interceptors of Anakin and Obi-Wan as well as an MTT installed in the hangar at the rear of the ship.

These references are obviously very symbolic at this scale but it will remain possible to guess them later thanks to the design of the model which makes it possible to obtain a crossing hangar observable through the installed glazing.

Many people were waiting for LEGO to one day offer the Invisible Hand in its catalog but everyone suspected that there is only the UCS scale to allow the thing to be declined without having to settle for a product too summary or disrespectful of the characteristic shapes of this vessel. The opportunity seized here makes it possible to obtain a relatively faithful and easily exhibitable model without having to compromise too much on the design and imagine a support capable of maintaining a very slender construction in balance.

The assembly of the ship is quickly completed, but the winks and the decomposition of the model into two sections to be joined together via a few clips should please fans. No one is going to display half a ship to "do like the crash landing scene in the movie" but just having a reference like this shows that LEGO is capable of adding a little fun to a product which a priori did not offer as much at first glance.

The result seems very convincing to me with a rendering consistent with the reference vessel and some aesthetic shortcuts that are easily excusable if we take into account the constraints imposed by the chosen scale. The construction is inspired and it has style, that's the main thing.

This ship is undoubtedly not the most emblematic of the Star Wars universe, even if it has its fans, but each collection needs second knives intended to highlight the key pieces.

This was the case with the series of helmets from the saga, it is the case again here with a first salvo of three products of which the Millennium Falcon is obviously the central piece and two other constructions which create this collectible effect research. This is well seen on the part of LEGO, it is indeed the group effect which makes it possible to obtain a beautiful set of products to proudly display on a shelf.

There are obviously a few stickers in this box and that's always a shame, especially when it's a model intended for exhibition. Those who want to avoid seeing these stickers damaged over time will probably not stick them, the model will happily do without the Separatist logo and the yellow and black stripes embodied by these stickers.

The black support, which I find rather elegant and correctly sized so as not to visually cannibalize the model, receives the usual pad-printed plate which specifies what it is and the brick celebrating 25 years of the LEGO Star Wars range is also provided in this box.

Those who want to add a Grievous, Anakin or Obi-Wan figurine to the support can use the studs available on the surface. LEGO has chosen not to include characters in these boxes, it is up to everyone to see if the addition of a minifig brings something to the overall presentation.

As you can imagine, I am a big fan of this scale and I am therefore one of those who are enthusiastically watching the return of these compact models to the manufacturer's catalog. I hope that the designers have other models in their plans, I am ready to dedicate a space to these products while the slew of more or less successful helmets left me unmoved. There will inevitably be some of the most creative fans to stage all these ships in dioramas respecting the imposed scale, I am curious to see the result of an exercise which promises to be very visually interesting.

In any case, it is difficult not to consider the acquisition of the three products offered in this series of sets entitled Starship Collection, they only aspire to be exhibited together to form a coherent series of models which will not invade the living room.

We do not yet know if LEGO really intends to go further in exploiting the format or if it is an isolated initiative, but in my opinion it is a good start with a balanced selection which only requires to be quickly joined by other equally inspired and accomplished models.
