episode7 inquisitor

It is the day of Star Wars rumors with several sites fighting over the most astonishing revelations about the next installment of the saga expected at the end of 2015.

Obviously, what interests me in all these rumors evoking the content of the film directed by JJ Abrams, are the new characters that will bring a little freshness in the Star Wars universe and by extension in my LEGO collection.

In bulk, what we learn today via Latino Review, Badass Digest, Jedi News or even indie revolver :

- The big bad from Episode VII would be a Inquisitor (visual above). A half-human, half-robot character, equipped with a red lightsaber to match his eyes. A beautiful minifigure, with a nice metallic pad printing to come ...

- A slightly special Stormtrooper would be there: With chrome armor, this "Stealth"Stormtrooper would have the ability to make himself invisible. To be expected: A chrome variant of the new Stormtrooper minifigure ...

- Carrie Fisher's daughter (Billie Lourd) would be in the cast, she would play her own younger mother in a streak flashback. The opportunity to be entitled to a teenage Leia in a specific outfit in addition to the new version of the same much older Leia ...

 - The character played by actor Oscar Isaac would be the new generation "counterpart" of Lando Calrissian. He would also be wearing a cape. Why not...

- A Mon Calamari would have an important role in Episode VII. A minifig that could join the three existing ones (Admiral Ackbar, Nahdar Vebb (set 8095) and the Mon Calamari Officer of set 7754).

- On the side of characters already seen in previous episodes, alongside Luke, Han, Chewbacca and Leia, Darth Vader would make a brief appearance on the screen. Looks like we won't escape yet another minifigure of the character ...

You will understand, all this is pure speculation pending confirmation (or denial) of all these rumors. I'm still looking forward to finally having some really new minifigs ...

Below, a visual uploaded by JJ Abrams on Twitter to thank the donors of the operation Strength for Change. The hand holding the box is actually that of the big bad "cyborg" from Episode VII.

Bonus: Yahoo movies recalls that Sylvester Stallone auditioned for the role of Han Solo in the Original Trilogy, but that Lucas had been moderately convinced by the actor. Too bad, this minifigure would have pleased me ...

LEGO Batman Visual Dictionary

The catalog of LEGO products planned for 2015 must be available from retailers as rumors of upcoming products distilled by those who know a guy who know a guy start to feed into the topics of our favorite forums (read Eurobricks among others) ...

Loose, we are already talking about the presence of the Invisible Jet of Wonder Woman in an upcoming set, of a Bionicle / Hero Factory type figure of the HulkBuster type armor for Iron Man which could accommodate a minifig and even of the arrival of Ant-Man in the LEGO inventory.

Please note, nothing says that these novelties will be based on the Marvel or DC films planned for the coming years, they can also be versions inspired by comics or animated series currently being broadcast (Avengers Assemble, Hulk and the Agents of SMASH) which will be marketed in parallel with the theatrical release of films featuring the characters concerned (Avengers 2: Age of Ultron and Ant-Man in 2015, Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice in 2016).

Above, the first appearance of a LEGO version of the Invisible Jet on page 70 of the LEGO Batman Visual Dictionary released in 2012, in the form of a prototype proposed by a LEGO designer.

I remind you as usual that until proof to the contrary, this partial information is only rumors circulating between many intermediaries and that they can be distorted, interpreted and embellished according to the transmissions.

Star Wars Episode VII: Snowtrooper & Stormtrooper?

To add in the drawer of rumors concerning Episode VII about which we must be very careful: The site indie revolver publishes the two visuals above and announces that it is a faithful representation of the look of the Snowtroopers and other Stormtroopers that we will discover in Episode VII expected in December 2015.

For its part, Making Star Wars specifies that the visual on the left could represent a specific version of the Stormtrooper equipped with a flamethrower and mentions a possible Fire Trooper... This new class would come into action against a backdrop of snowy forests ...

If this information is correct, LEGO must probably already be at work and 2015 should bring us some new minifigs instead of the usual variations that we have had to settle for in recent years ...

Update : Added the photo below (left) which appears to be the final version of the Stormtrooper helmet used in the movie. It is asymmetric: no respirator on the right side.

Also added concept art showing two of the upcoming outfits worn by Han Solo.
