Finally, here are some high resolution visuals of The LEGO Ninjago Movie set 70616 Ice Tank, for which we had so far only a slightly blurry picture.
I really like the look of this tracked machine equipped with a rotating cannon. In the box, 914 pieces. US retail price: $ 79.99. Exclusive to LEGO Shop / Toys R Us in the USA, and probably also here.
The pitch of the set:
Help Zane save Patty Keys and Torben from the shark soldiers using this cool vehicle featuring an opening minifigure cockpit, big tracks, ice cannon with 6-stud rapid shooter, and a rotating ice container. |
Find all the visuals of the sets based on the animated film The LEGO Ninjago Movie here to access the category dedicated to the news of this range.
Now that the (good) surprise has fallen, why not try to find out a little more about the origin of the very large and detailed set. 70620 Ninjago City.
The two designers of this box, Nicolas Vás and Christopher Leslie Stamp entrusted to Yahoo some of the "secrets" of making this set which will not leave many people indifferent if I believe your numerous comments following the announcement of this box by LEGO.
In summary, they first point out that the building has been split into three distinct levels which represent the different phases of the evolution of the city of Ninjago City.
Putting together these three very different elements so that they form a homogeneous whole was a challenge. The tower at the top of the building has been deliberately set back to create a perspective effect, as if it was pointing far behind the buildings of the city.
The designers also had to adapt to convert the city seen on the screen to a reduced scale.
They therefore selected the most iconic details of the city to integrate them into the model in order to keep the spirit of the film in the LEGO set.
The sources of inspiration of the designers of the set logically have a lot in common with those of the directors of the film, but Nicolas Vás and Christopher Leslie Stamp have also incorporated references to very real places they have visited in the past and mention having drawn ideas in the LEGO Ninjago TV series and in the many gravy creations Cyberpunk offered by the fan community.
There are definitely no limits to excess at LEGO.
The and 70620 Ninjago City has just been unveiled by the manufacturer (it is online on the LEGO Shop) and fans of this universe will be able to have fun with the 4867 pieces and the 16 minifigs contained in this box (Jay, Kai, Lloyd Garmadon, Green Ninja Suit, Misako, Jamanakai Villager, Sally, Ivy Walker, Konrad, Severin Black, Tommy, Guy, Juno, Mother Doomsday, Shark Army Gunner, Officer Noonan and Sweep the maintenance robot).
The building (63cm high, 42cm deep and 31cm wide) is based on the principle of modular structures usually found in the LEGO Creator Expert range. Lots of stickers to stick for the different signs, a functional cash dispenser, a sushi conveyor belt, microfigs of all colors and even an elevator ...
Availability announced for 1er September .
Public price for France: 299.99 €.
The official description (in French) of the contents of the box can be found on the product sheet online on the LEGO Shop at this address.
Another set from the The LEGO Ninjago Movie range is unveiled today with these reference images 70613 Garma Mecha Man (747 pieces - 59.99 €), until now known as 70613 Garmadon's Robo Shark and uploaded by a dutch sign.
To accompany the mech, Garmadon piloting the thing, Lloyd, Pat the nice citizen of Ninjago City and a villain Great White.
The pitch of the set:
Help Lloyd protect civilian Pat from attack by Garma Mecha Man, featuring spring-loaded shark blaster, opening cockpit for Garmadon, ammo belt and fish tank. |
As I've already said in a previous article, I will ignore all the too futuristic stuff among the various products derived from the animated film. I prefer to concentrate on the sets which display a more "classic" atmosphere like the references 70617 Temple of The Ultimate Ultimate Weapon et 70618 Destiny's Bounty.
We advance on the file The LEGO Ninjago Movie with the first official visuals of most of the sets planned to accompany the release of the animated film.
No visuals for sets 70613 Garmadon's Robo-Shark et 70620 (Set Direct2Consumer).
It'll be without me for the tech-futuristic stuff, but the Temple (70617) and Destiny's Bounty (70618) will probably end up being favored by my wallet.
