The interesting info of the day is not directly related to LEGO but it still concerns the maker of Billund: Hasbro recently revealed, during a presentation devoted to its future products, what appears to be the line-up official Star Wars films scheduled for the next six years, effectively confirming rumors about spin-offs possible relayed by many sites so far, before asking in disaster for the withdrawal of articles published on different sites (including Jedi News et Making Star Wars) and therefore implicitly re-confirm the reliability of the information.

Toymakers don't decide on their products at the last moment and it often takes several years to develop a line before it actually comes to market. If the information is reliable, there is no doubt that LEGO also has this information and that in Billund we are currently working on products derived from the films expected in the years to come.

Le line-up revealed by Hasbro breaks down as follows:

  • 2014: Star Wars Rebels (Animated Series)
  • 2015: Episode VII
  • 2016: Boba Fett (Spin-off)
  • 2017: Episode VIII
  • 2018: Solo (Spin-off)
  • 2019: Episode IX
  • 2020: Red Five (Spin-off or new animated series?)

Note that both spin-offs based on Boba Fett and Han Solo who were already at the heart of all the rumors are present in this list alongside the new trilogy, and there is also at the end of the list an enigmatic "Red five"planned for 2020.

Some sites already see it as a spin off centered on the adventures of X-Wing pilots (Red five is the code name given to one of the members of the Red Squadron including Luke Skywalker during the Battle of Yavin) or the possible adventures of a young Luke as a novice pilot, while others evoke a possible new animated series which would take over from Rebels.

In any case, 2020 will be the year of the X-Wing, no doubt about it.

On the LEGO product side, we are no further ahead despite this list of movies and series on which Hasbro seems to be based for its future products, but it at least gives us an idea of the schedule of Star Wars events to come while waiting for theEpisode vii whose filming has just started in Abu Dhabi.

Even if the information seems reliable, especially given the reaction of Hasbro, remember that everything related to Star Wars is to be taken with enormous tweezers as long as no official confirmation takes place ...
