ZanXBal got an interesting surprise when unboxing his 6864 Batmobile and the Two-Face Chase set : the Batman minifigure mask is noticeably different from the one we already know. Since he posted photos on Brickset , speculation has been rife about this new mask (on the left in the photo), which doesn't properly cover Batman's face and appears to be from a new mold.
Some already argue that this is a version intended for sets on the theme of The Dark Knight Rises, designed to be more like the costume of Christian Bale in the film. Others think that it is simply an update of the existing mold in order to refine the features of the mask, especially at the level of the eyebrows.
But then why did this version end up in this set with a face that is not suitable? Is this a packaging error? From a manufacturing problem? in any case, we will have to wait to find out more ...
