LEGO House Limited Edition 40502 The Brick Molding Machine

As promised, we quickly tour the contents of the LEGO House set 40502 The Brick Molding Machine, (Limited Edition) a beautiful box of 1205 pieces that will be sold exclusively at the LEGO House Store in Billund from March 4th. It will be necessary to go there and pay 599 DKK or about 80 € to have the pleasure of assembling the reproduction of the machine which sits at the entrance of the LEGO House and which produces the bricks present in the small bags offered to visitors ( ref. 624210). For those wondering why the box bears the number 2, this is the second reference in a series of sets launched last year by the reference 40501 The Wooden Duck.

This souvenir to bring back from a trip to Billund will remain exclusive to the LEGO House and will probably never be offered for purchase through the official online store. I know that some are already imagining that LEGO could re-launch the initiative that had allowed the fastest to buy a copy of the set 21037 LEGO House on the Shop in May 2020, but the reopening to the public of the sanctuary dedicated to the brick being confirmed, there is hardly any chance that LEGO will repeat this operation.

The real injection molding machine visible to visitors to the LEGO House is identical to those installed at the brand's various production sites, the only difference being that the mold used here produces only six classic red 2x4 bricks and that the speed of the manufacturing process has been slowed so as not to produce more bricks than necessary depending on the number of people on site.

LEGO House Limited Edition 40502 The Brick Molding Machine

Well done to the designer, the reproduction offered is really faithful to the reference machine, down to the smallest detail with, for example, the small red bucket which collects production waste. Some features are integrated into the product, and even if this machine 29 cm long, 15 cm wide and 19 cm high with its presentation support is intended to end its career on a shelf, we can have a little fun with it.

The three side protection panels slide to allow access to the internal mechanics of the machine and a thumbwheel moves the part of the mold containing the six red bricks to the other half. The bricks are not ejected from the mold as on the real machine when the two parts of the mold are separated, but the integration of this function brings a little touch of realism to the product.

The designer insisted on this point and I therefore do the same: this set is also the first to offer doors and frames in Lime (lime) and these parts provided here in five copies should quickly find their way into other boxes. Here we find the color differences that particularly affect this color. Lime, those who have invested in the LEGO Technic set 42115 Lamborghini Sián FKP 37 know what I'm talking about. It's subtle but sufficiently present that the aesthetics of the final model suffer. It can therefore be concluded that despite LEGO's promises to try to solve this problem, no convincing solution has yet been found.

There is only one sticker in this box, it is the one used for the machine control panel screen. The three Tiles reproducing the promotional bags and those specifying that they are the machine installed at the LEGO House are pad printed. The designs of the bags are printed on Tiles nougat color which represent the paper version of the packaging soon to replace the classic polybag.

LEGO does include some information on the evolution of its manufacturing processes in the first pages of the instruction booklet, but I would have liked to know more about how this particular machine works. It's a shame, adding some technical data on the technology used would have made this product a pseudo-educational tool instead of limiting it to the role of a simple souvenir of a visit to Billund. A few inserts over the pages would have been welcome, it will be for another time.

In short, if you ever pass by Billund and this set is still available on the shelves of the LEGO House Store by then, you may be able to bring back this nice derivative as a souvenir. Just kidding, there is a good chance that this set has been sold out for a long time and you will as often have to turn to the aftermarket dealers who will be on site from March 4 to fill the trunk of their car and offer you the thing. at the double or the tripe of its public price to "amortize the displacement". It's up to you to see if this investment is justified.

Note: The set presented here, provided by LEGO, is as usual involved. Deadline fixed at March 15, 2021 next at 23pm. "The" I try, I participate "are automatically deleted, make an effort.

LEGO House Limited Edition 40502 The Brick Molding Machine

LEGO today unveils the set 40502 The Brick Molding Machine, a limited edition product that joins the sets 40501 The Wooden Duck, 21037 LEGO House40366 LEGO House Dinosaurs et 4000026 Tree of Creativity in the section of products that are only available for sale in the Store of the LEGO House in Billund.

This box of 1205 pieces, which will be sold for 599 DKK (around 80 €) as soon as the LEGO House reopens on March 4, allows you to assemble a reproduction of the machine placed at the entrance of the complex dedicated to bricks and the LEGO version. poster displays rather correct measurements: 29 cm long, 15 cm wide and 19 cm high.

The contents of the box also make it possible to obtain a few copies of the future paper version of the souvenir bag distributed to visitors and which contains six red bricks, in the form of a Tile pad printed. Spoiler: there is a sticker in this set.

We will talk about this product again very quickly on the occasion of a "Review ".

LEGO House Limited Edition 40502 The Brick Molding Machine

Today we're quickly talking about the product unveiled yesterday by LEGO, the LEGO House Limited Edition set. 40505 LEGO Building System which pays homage to different worlds of the manufacturer via a display in three sections decorated on the back with an exhibition space bringing together around twenty micro-constructions.

I'm not going to lie to you, I'm not particularly enthusiastic about the contents of this box. The idea of offering a museum-style setting is good, but the execution here seems a little too cheesy to convince me. it was undoubtedly possible to reproduce the atmosphere of the museum installed in the LEGO House in Billund without being satisfied with the gray walls visible here, the latter not really highlighting the overall diorama even if they fade visually to so that we can concentrate on the three modules offered.

I really think that the idea of paying homage to three of the manufacturer's emblematic universes is excellent, that is also what this range of exclusive limited edition products should be used for, which only those who make the trip to Billund can afford. , but it should be kept in mind that LEGO asks us to pay for purely self-promotional products and that as such we can hope to obtain successful and convincing sets.

Highlight the first DUPLO train, the modular concept Town Map and the Technic ecosystem is a fairly coherent summary of what allowed the LEGO brand to exist and develop, it would simply have been necessary to stage all of this in a slightly less academic manner and free itself from classicism of this product with slightly sad colors

40505 lego house home brick building system 6

The niches placed at the back of the gray walls bring together around twenty micro-constructions which hover over numerous ranges and universes, it is rather well seen even if this micro-exhibition is hidden as if the designer had simply wanted to make one easter egg discreet which in my opinion deserved much better than being an accessory element of the product. These micro-constructions are individually probably no better than the content of an uninspired Advent calendar, but taken as a whole they constitute a real timeline of the history of the brand and I find it almost a shame that this visual summary interesting is relegated to the background.

LEGO has even provided a few additional pieces in addition to the elements usually provided in addition in its boxes to allow you to fill the space deliberately left empty at the end of the timeline with a creation from your imagination. It's up to you to complete this Hall of Fame discreet with a model of your own that will embody the way you imagine the LEGO “legend”.

On a more technical level, the three modules are quickly assembled, the supports are not very inspired but the constructions they house offer some interesting techniques, whether it is the DUPLO train faithful to the first model of the range marketed in the 80s right down to the colors used, the modular platform Town Map launched in 1955 which offers an assembly experience similar to what this range offered in its time with its modules which form a city made up of its micro buildings, vegetation and other vehicles or the reproduction of the LEGO Technic Chassis coach from 1977 which remains symbolic but relatively faithful even if the micro-model only uses classic bricks.

No stickers in this box of just over 1200 pieces, both Tiles specifying the subject covered and placed at the front of the construction as well as pedestrian crossings are therefore pad printed. We will also note that the three modules are not joined together, they are not clipped and are simply nested.

The result is an exhibition model around forty centimeters long which will struggle, in my opinion, to fully find its place alongside the other volumes of a collection (the references 40501 The Wooden Duck (2020) 40502 The Brick Molding Machine (2021) 40503 Dagny Holm - Master Builder (2022) et 40504 A Minifigure Tribute (2023)) which nevertheless offers attractive and successful products.

LEGO will have wanted to cultivate the vintage side of this homage but, as is sometimes the case, in my opinion we are more inclined here to clumsy old-fashionedness than to pure nostalgia. It's a shame, knowing that it will also be necessary to make the effort to fill the pockets of resellers on the secondary market to avoid traveling to Billund and complete a collection which seemed interesting to follow given the products already on the market. As usual, it's up to you.

40505 lego house exclusive building system 1

LEGO today unveils a set that will be available from March 1, 2024 only on the shelves of the Store installed in the heart of the LEGO House in Billund: the reference 40505 LEGO Building System.

This box, the 5th in the collection of sets which pays homage to the emblematic products of the LEGO brand, features three universes with the DUPLO train dating from the 80s, the range Town Map with its constructions with red roofs launched in 1955 and a miniature version of the colorful LEGO Technic chassis delivered in 1977 in the set bearing the reference 853 Car Chassis.
At the back of the construction presented in front of a gray wall which embodies the staging visible in the space dedicated to the different LEGO universes of the LEGO House in Billund, we find 19 emblematic nano-constructions installed in niches as well as a space left voluntarily empty by the manufacturer which will allow buyers of this box to add their favorite model.

For those who are wondering about the presence of the number 5 on the box: this set is the fifth element of what we can now call the "LEGO House Collection" after references 40501 The Wooden Duck (2020) 40502 The Brick Molding Machine (2021) 40503 Dagny Holm - Master Builder (2022) et 40504 A Minifigure Tribute (2023), all limited edition.

Public price of the set: 699 DKK or approximately €94. This product is not available anywhere other than the Billund Store, so you will have to contact secondary market resellers to obtain it if you do not want to make the trip.

lego house limited edition 40504 minifigure tribute 3

Today we are quickly interested in the content of the LEGO set 40504 A Minifigure Tribute, a limited-edition 1041-piece box that is only available from the LEGO House Store in Billund. The goal is obviously not to taunt you by presenting you with a product that will be inaccessible to most fans, it is above all a question of quickly going around it and then offering it as usual to one of you.

This set sold at the public price of 599 DKK, or approximately 81 €, is the fourth element of what can now be called the "LEGO House Collection" which already included the references 40501 The Wooden Duck (2020) 40502 The Brick Molding Machine (2021) et 40503 Dagny Holm - Master Builder (2022)

Those who have had the LEGO Harry Potter set in their hands 76393 Harry Potter & Hermione Granger will inevitably have an impression of deja vu here when discovering this big minifig about thirty centimeters high made of bricks: the process of assembling this pirate is indeed identical to that of the two Hogwarts students and the difference will only be on accessories or aesthetic variations such as the wooden leg, the hook of the left arm, the shoulder pads and the bicorne hat.

lego house limited edition 40504 minifigure tribute 2

lego house limited edition 40504 minifigure tribute 4

The face seems to me a little too narrow compared to the rest of the character's body and its various accessories, it will have to be done with it. For those wondering, the buttons on the character's jacket are only fixed on a single tenon and it is therefore possible to position them correctly to obtain perfect alignment and avoid the vertical offset visible on the official visuals. With the format of these maxi figures now firmly established, I expect we'll see many more figures at this scale in the years to come.

Do not expect to make this pirate take the most improbable poses, the round base at the foot of the wooden leg does not really ensure perfect stability of the whole in the event that one of the two legs is facing forwards or backwards. The hefty weight of the entire upper body doesn't help either, and the legs aren't weighted. The figurine is stable when standing upright on both legs, whether placed on its base or displayed on its own.

As for Harry or Hermione, I find that the lower part of the character's face is missed, even if the inverted chin effect here is somewhat reduced by the pad printing of the beard. Many black parts are as often a little marked, scratched or damaged, it's a shame for a pure exhibition product to the glory of the brand's know-how.

A nice wink from the designer: the inside of the head houses a micro-island with its palm tree. It is no longer visible afterwards but it is a fun detail that will spice up the construction process a bit.

lego house limited edition 40504 minifigure tribute

I scanned you the sheet of stickers delivered in this box, it contains the treasure map as well as the symbol that adorns the front face of Redbeard's headgear, everything else is stamped. It is regrettable that a limited edition product is flanked by two stickers instead of benefiting from pad printing, that of the hat will inevitably end up peeling off one day under the effect of light and heat.

The map of Denmark contains some amusing references such as the marking of the location of Billund with a red cross, the presence of the Black Seas Barracuda at the top left or the use of a head of skeleton in the middle of the compass.

In short, I'm not sure that this model, as attractive as it is because of the subject matter and your level of nostalgia, deserves the trip to Billund. By combining the budget needed to get there and all the ancillary costs, it will probably be wiser to turn to the secondary market if this big figurine must absolutely end up on your shelves one day.

Many Danish resellers are already in line with a price that currently runs around 200 € on Bricklink and elsewhere, but the price should quickly drop with the inevitable increase in supply. Some copies signed by the designers are also offered for sale, we know that they regularly go to the LEGO House Store to sign a handful of the products on the shelves.
