What some feared and others expected has happened: LEGO "re-releases" an X-Wing in a collector's version.

Here is the set 10240 Red Five X-Wing Starfighter (1558 pieces, 26x52x46 cm), a distant cousin of the 7191 X-Wing Starfighter set (1300 pieces) released in 2000 that he will take care of forgetting.

I like this new model. It is a modern evolution, updated, less cubic, logical ... The classic glass roof will not be to everyone's taste but it remains faithful to the model of the film, difficult to do otherwise ... Big development welcome on the tiles engines and on the nose of the ship.

It is also and above all a great opportunity for all those who have not had the chance to get the 7191 set at a fair price to add an X-Wing in UCS format to their collection. No reference to the range Ultimate Collector Series in the official press release by the way, as if LEGO wanted to avoid confusion and collectors' reproaches following this barely disguised remake.

Retail prices advertised by LEGO: US $ 199.99, CA $ 249.99, DE 199.99 €, UK 169.99 £. Marketing in May 2013.

We will briefly talk about Lego city undercover, this highly anticipated game full of promise for Wii U with the visual of the pack "Limited Edition"containing the Chase McCain minifigure and the first images of LEGO City Undercover: The Chase Begins, a prequel to the Wii U game which will be released for Nintendo 3DS in April 2013.

I specify that the minifig of Chase McCain delivered with the set City 60007 High Speed ​​Chase is different from that delivered in this pack. This minifigure is therefore an exclusive version available only with the video game.

This Limited Edition pack is already listed on amazon.fr, but no release date is announced on the product sheet.

amazon.co.uk also lists this pack with a release date of March 28, 2013.

Regulars at Brick Heroes probably already know this artist whom I told you about several times for his digital creation work (Comic book covers, posters) based on superhero minifigs.

This time we go from the digital version to the plastic with this magnificent custom of Green Arrow based on the version of the character seen in the LEGO Batman 2 video game. 

On the left, the version modeled by mike napolitan inspired by the character of the game and on the right its minifig version in ABS plastic. I love...

By the way, if you don't know yet the Arrow TV series with an excellent Stephen Amell in the title role (Oliver Queen / Arrow) currently broadcast in the USA on the CW channel, throw yourself on it, it's very good entertainment based on superheroes.

Two pieces of information to note today, and which have absolutely nothing to do with each other:

- The appearance of this LEGO Star Wars keychain in a bag in the colors of the board game 3866 Battle of Hoth released in 2012 (LEGO reference 6012306). Not the collector's item of the century, but a cool bag that will appeal to collectors.

- Announcement by Kevin Hinkle on the Community Team blog that the next exclusive set (UCS or not for that matter) will be unveiled OUTSIDE the USA. You will tell me that we don't care to know that it will be in another country around the world until we know what it is or when this official presentation will take place ... You are right.

But it does not prevent the Lego world 2013 will be held from February 14 to 17 in Copenhagen and that on this occasion LEGO could well pull us out of the hat one of the sets which are currently rumored: 10240 X-Wing? Ewok Village? The bets are open...

In the middle of all these superb minifigs from the Lord of the Rings range presented on the LEGO stand during the New York Toy Fair, there is still a little disappointment for me when I discover the eagle that LEGO offers us in the set 79007 Battle at The Black Gate. 

Admittedly, it is a pretty figurine, well molded, perfectly decorated but it remains a figurine, a little undersized besides, and the four studs will not change anything. 

This is the opportunity to talk to you about the set again LEGO Creator 31004 Fierce Flyer (less than 9 € at amazon.it) that LegoLegu has already sent to the rescue of Frodo and Sam who find themselves in bad shape after destroying the Ring (The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King).
We must admit that it has a little more pep ... We also wonder how the LEGO eagle of set 79007 can hold something in its talons ...
