30386 Poe Dameron's X-Wing Fighter

Today we are interested in the new LEGO Star Wars polybag 30386 Poe Dameron's X-Wing Fighter, a 72-piece bag of which LEGO sent me a copy and about which not much is known at the moment except that it is already on sale at Walmart across the Atlantic.

The contents of the bag reproduce the very colorful X-Wing of Poe Dameron as it appears in the film The Rise of Skywalker and therefore in the set 75273 Poe Dameron's X-Wing Fighter (761 pieces - 109.99 €) inspired by the film.

The version to be built here with an ultra-reduced inventory is logically simplified to the extreme but it at least has the merit of being a little more original than that of the last polybag to date containing an X-Wing, the reference 30278 Poe's X-Wing Fighter offered in January 2016 on the official online store.

Indeed, we find here some parts diverted from their usual use (NPU or Nice Part Use for those familiar with the LEGO "language"): Carrots for the reactors and ski poles for the laser cannons. For those who did not understand the implication and who would regret the absence of purple conical parts at the rear, the carrot is an appropriate element here because of the color of the fuselage ...

For the rest, the wings are simply clipped onto the fuselage and you will have to find the right position and then no longer touch the ship so that the X-Wing remains in the attack position. Whatever the manufacturer says, I find that some clips are more finicky than others and offer more or less strong support. If you are looking for R2-D2, it is there in its place behind the cockpit, symbolized by a round metallic piece.

In short, nothing to get excited about more than reason for this small bag without minifig, even if the model is relatively convincing and benefits from a humorous touch. Regarding France, we do not yet know when and where it will be possible to be offered this new polybag or to obtain it against a few euros.

Note: The product shown here, supplied by LEGO, is as usual in play. Deadline fixed at 11th February 2020 next at 23pm.

76144 Avengers Hulk Helicopter Rescue

Today we are interested in the LEGO Marvel set 76144 Avengers Hulk Helicopter Rescue (482 pieces - 59.99 €), a box available for a few weeks which accomplishes the feat of completely missing its subject, even in certain details. Still, the product offers pretty decent playability and therefore deserves some attention, even from those who skipped it a bit too quickly.

This set indeed looks like a derivative of the film Avengers Endgame, but almost everything is far too approximate to be credible. Many fans, however, will be indulgent with these glaring inaccuracies and will just add Pepper Potts / Rescue and Hulk in version. Quantum Suit to their collection without really worrying about the rest of the contents of the box.

As it was absolutely necessary to offer a vehicle, the designer thought that a helicopter would do the trick. And if in addition it allows to drop the Hulk on the evil Chitauris, it's even better. Neither the machine, nor the functionality are obviously present in the film. The helicopter could almost be delusional if it weren't so wacky with its blades and canopy that seem to come straight out of a set in the LEGO Nexo Knights range, its skates and missile launchers carelessly placed at the end of the wings.

In addition to the function that allows the Hulk to be ejected by pressing the orange button placed near the rotor, we can retain the presence of a case with code lock that allows you to store the Nano Gauntlet and two clips to hang Black Widow's sticks while she's in control of the craft. The wings are mobile, they can unfold upwards or stay flat on the sides of the helicopter. Both Tiles with the Avengers logo that adorn the upper surface of the wings are pad printed. It is always that taken.

The set also has the merit of offering a complete content with good guys and bad guys and so there is something here to have a little fun for the youngest by ejecting the Hulk so that he takes the skin off the two evil Chitauris. The whole is still far too crude to convince an adult fan who is looking for a new product derived from the film.

On the villain side, the buildable Leviathan is a far cry from paying homage to the film's version. Here, we are satisfied with a mini-model articulated like a snake or a Ninjago dragon with an outside cockpit. We are close to the Microfighter and it's a bit of a shame for a set sold for € 60. The book cover in Trans purple which is used here as HUD is not new, it was already delivered in two sets The LEGO Movie 2 marketed in 2019. The other provided device allows to install a Chitauri and it is undoubtedly the element of the set the more faithful to the film.

The endowment in characters is interesting here even if the approximations are numerous. We could for example discuss the color of the armor of Pepper Potts in Rescue version and frankly bulky additional elements that dress the minifig. And that's not to mention the provided hair which isn't quite in the spirit of Gwyneth Paltrow's hairstyle in the final scenes of the movie or the helmet that doesn't have a movable visor.

It will also be necessary to rid the minifigure of its various accessories to put the hair on its head. Still, we're finally getting a LEGO version of this character and that's a good thing. The pad printing of the minifig's torso and legs is superb with a pretty impressive level of detail.

The majority of the stickers in the set are on a transparent background and it is a solution that seems to me to be suitable for avoiding the color differences often observed between the stickers and the parts on which they are placed. The moving parts of Pepper Potts' armor are therefore dressed in some of these stickers and the result is in my opinion quite acceptable.

Hulk is delivered here in version Quantum Suit and the outfit is pretty much faithful to the movie, except maybe for the chest details and the oversized logo. LEGO provides the Nano Gauntlet that the character puts on in a scene but the outfit worn by Bruce Banner at this point in the film is not the one delivered here.

It's not a big deal, collectors of minifigs in their variant Quantum Suit keep their hands green and expose the Nano Gauntlet apart. The latter comes with four Infinity Stones to plug into the slots provided (Spirit, Power, Time and Reality), the other two (Soul and Space) are available in the set 76131 Avengers Compound Battle (2019)

The Black Widow minifigure is not new, it is the one already delivered in the set 76126 Ultimate Quinjet marketed in 2019. Same observation for the two Chitauris with slightly sad legs which were also delivered in set 76126. No weapons for the two villains, they are in command of their respective machines and the small flying platform is equipped with of them Stud Shooters.

In short, this set is not a product derived from the movie Avengers Endgame of which they nevertheless take some elements but it allows us above all to complete our collection of minifigs in version Quantum Suit and finally get a Pepper Potts / Rescue minifigure. It's up to you to see whether to spend 60 € right away or wait for a promo at Amazon.

853990 Easter Bunny House

Today we are very quickly interested in the small LEGO Seasonal set 853990 Easter Bunny House which was thought to be a promotional product but which will eventually be sold on the manufacturer's official online store at the retail price of ... € 7.99.

No need to draw you a drawing, this box of 57 pieces is a seasonal product on the theme of the Easter holidays, with its packaging in the shape of a colored egg dressed with a label to personalize which contains what to assemble a young girl disguised as rabbit, a micro-henhouse with a hen, a scooter and some vegetation.

The goal of the product is simple: you hide the set in the garden and the children will have to locate it. As with Kinder eggs. Except that these allow you to get chocolate AND a mini-toy, for much less per unit. To compensate and not risk disappointing the most greedy, nothing prevents you from adding a treat in the resealable packaging of the set to accompany the parts provided.

853990 Easter Bunny House

853990 Easter Bunny House

There is nothing very exciting about the micro-henhouse, apart from maybe the egg hidden in the lower part of the building accessible by opening the white hatch.

LEGO scooter enthusiasts can get a new copy of the version here Medium Azure of the machine already seen in the sets 10264 Corner Garage (2019) 41379 Heartlake City Restaurant (2019) et 41389 Ice Cream Cart (2020). Note that the scooter crutch is not a bucket handle, it is a handlebar. The more observant will have noticed that the headlight of the scooter consists of a fried egg and this wink is appreciable.

The hen provided is the white version last seen in 2017 in the small seasonal set 40237 Easter Egg Hunt. LEGO does not provide any "real" eggs in this small box and is content to deliver a few white bulbs to plug into the gray plate in addition to the copy to hide under the henhouse. Pity.

Finally, the minifigure is rather pretty with its torso which echoes that of the character seen in the promotional mini set 5005249 Easter bunny offered at LEGO in 2018 then at Toys R Us or King Jouet. We will remember the small details that make all the charm of the character with the pad-printed tail on the back or the teeth slightly apart and the make-up of circumstance on the face.

In summary, we get here a young girl disguised as a rabbit who is holding a carrot and who is about to leave to deliver eggs laid by a decidedly very productive hen on her scooter. Why not, even if I find that 8 € for this type of product is still a bit expensive.

The set will be available at this address on the LEGO Shop from February 1st.

Note: The set presented here, supplied by LEGO, is as usual in play. Deadline fixed at 10th February 2020 next at 23pm.

75266 Sith Troopers Battle Pack

Today we quickly make the tour of the small LEGO Star Wars set 75266 Sith Troopers Battle Pack (105 pieces - € 14.99), a box that allows us to get enough to start building an army of Sith Troopers, Sith Jet Troopers and possibly officers of the Final Order.

As is usually the case in Battle Packs from the LEGO Star Wars range, the vehicle provided here is of little interest. This time it is a simplified version of the Speeder seen in the set 75100 First Order Snowspeeder marketed in 2015, which only serves as a pretext to sell us a construction toy whose main advantage is the presence of four minifigs. The machine can not really accommodate the entire squad delivered in this box but we can at least fix a Stud Shooter at the front to obtain an orientable barrel. It's always taken.

The canopy of the cockpit is more than symbolic, as are the seats and the engines. The finish of the model is far from complete, but with 105 pieces in the box and a public price set at 14.99 €, you should not ask for too much.

75266 Sith Troopers Battle Pack

The Battle Packs of the LEGO Star Wars range are therefore especially interesting for the minifigs they contain. Some fans would prefer to get four copies of the same character, but others are happy to be content with the varied assortment offered by LEGO. Here, we are entitled to a "standard" Sith Trooper, two Sith Jet Troopers and an officer (or a non-commissioned officer) whose black outfit may suggest a sergeant or a squad leader even if the grade pad printed on the torso seems undocumented to me for the moment.

The Sith Trooper minifig delivered here is not exclusive to this small box, it is the one already delivered in the set 75256 Kylo Ren's Shuttle marketed since October 2019. The two Sith Jet Troopers are however exclusive for the moment to this Battle Pack and as for the white version of the Jet Trooper seen in the set 75250 Pasaana Speeder Chase, they benefit from a nice pad printing and convincing accessories with a jetpack in two parts including a small Tile pad printed.

As usual, under the helmets of these soldiers of the Final Order we obviously find a head of .... Angry clone. These three minifigs are equipped with Stud Shooters, as is the case with most Battle Packs featuring Troopers, and I regret once again that LEGO does not deliver some good old generic blasters, although I understand that the gameplay comes first.

75266 Sith Troopers Battle Pack

75266 Sith Troopers Battle Pack

The minifig of the officer of the Final Order is rather successful with its red piping on the chest and the logo of the organization led by Palpatine / Sidious pad printed on both the belt buckle and on the cap. The character's face is however not new, it is that of Lex Luthor, Bruce Wayne and several generic minifigs marketed so far in the Jurassic World or Star Wars ranges.

In short, a Battle Pack, it is always good to take for a collector of minifigs and with patience it is not uncommon to be able to obtain these small boxes for a price lower than the price charged by LEGO. I'm not sure these Sith Troopers will become as cult as the original Stormtroopers over the years, but these minifigs are visually very successful and deserve to find their place in your collections. And one more officer, even generic, is always good to take.

40393 LEGOLAND Fire Academy

Today we quickly go around the LEGO set 40393 LEGOLAND Fire Academy, a small box that will be difficult to obtain because it is only distributed in stores in LEGOLAND parks. Since LEGO has sent me a copy, I'm taking the trouble to tell you about it here.

I don't need to draw you a picture, this 221-piece box is a product of attraction glory that anyone who has ever visited a LEGOLAND park is familiar with and has tried at least once.

It is also and above all an essential extension for all those who want to install a reproduction of the park in the middle of their CITY diorama and who already have the exclusive references. 40346 LEGOLAND Park et 40347 LEGOLAND Driving School Cars marketed in 2019, the set 40306 Micro LEGOLAND Castle  (2018) and the set 40166 LEGOLAND Train (2016)

The principle of the attraction is simple: The alarm sounds, you have to borrow a fire engine to get to the scene of the fire (a few tens of meters from the starting point) and use the water hose to target the fires that take place in the neighborhood made up of cinema facades. The first team to return to base after completing their mission wins the game. It's fun for the youngest.

We therefore find here a reproduction of the fire truck to borrow in both directions, which explains the somewhat strange construction of the vehicle, and the facades that must be aimed at. To replace the water, LEGO provides us with some blue pieces that we have to project using a Stud Shooter installed on a fire hydrant.

The different constructions of the set are decorated with stickers including a nice park map already present in the set 40346 LEGOLAND Park.

40393 LEGOLAND Fire Academy

LEGOLAND Fire Academy

In this small box, LEGO also provides three minifigs to embody the park employee in charge of the proper functioning of the attraction, a mother and her son.
The employee's torso with his badge surmounted by a minifigure is rather rare, it is currently only available in this box and in the set 40346 LEGOLAND Park, a box also exclusively distributed in the shops of the parks .

The torso of the female character is more common, it is the one seen in the LEGO CITY sets 60150 XNUMX Pizza Van et 60203 Ski Resort and in the Creator Expert set 10261 Roller Coaster. The young boy's torso is the one seen in the LEGO CITY set 60233 Donut Shop Opening.

In short, this little set is undoubtedly a nice souvenir to bring back from a visit to one of the LEGOLAND parks, and its relatively small distribution unfortunately does not make it accessible to all fans. Not enough to get up at night, even if the attraction in question benefits from an honest reproduction in LEGO version.

Some copies are currently for sale on Bricklink  ou on eBay with a starting price of around 25/30 €. It's a bit expensive for this little club but it's still a lot cheaper than taking the plane and paying for the hotel and the entrance to the park.
