After viewing the film Captain America: First Avenger which remains honest despite a few script shortcuts which I will not reveal to you here, I said to myself that there was material for LEGO to offer us good sets based on this film. The movie is full of finds and the various and varied vehicles including Captain America's supercharged motorcycle and Red Skull's car loosely based on the Mercedes 540K and G4 models would make good bases for attractive sets.
Regarding the minifigs, in addition to the Cap and Red Skull, it would be interesting to have some key characters from the film like Peggy Carter or Colonel Chester Phillips. The soldiers of Red Skull are also interesting: Their outfits and their futuristic weapons are adaptable in minifigs and a mixed Battle Pack with a few American soldiers would do the trick.
Unfortunately, with the film being set primarily during WWII and with LEGO having long announced its desire not to produce contemporary warlike content, we are unlikely to see such a Battle Pack released.
LEGO will likely focus on the current Avengers backdrop to bring Captain America into its lineup. The minifig presented at San Diego Comic Con in July is also equipped with the costume and the shield seen in the second part of the film and which will be there for The Avengers May 2012.
I won't tell you more about the film, which is worth a look and remains a necessary step before getting ready to watch The Avengers next year, and I offer you two customs of tin7_creations for Cape Town and Red Skull.
- Frederic Marchand : I have the same problem on my side except that I don't want...
- Steph : Too bad the spider's face is missed otherwise...
- The_SPY : Yes, really too expensive! +1 for Grogu...
- The_SPY : Thank you Chloé for the editing :)...
- Tylar : The Jedi is so successful...
- kurgan seth : Shameful, as said just below. Polybags are valued...
- Tylar : Clearly, beautiful spider...
- Tinatis : As said in the conclusion, best value for money...
- Tinatis : 5 times too expensive, no need to say more....
- Tinatis : Perhaps the best interpretation of Hagrid's hut...
