LEGO Lord of the Rings Video Game - Gandalf The Gray

We are starting to get used to these exclusive minifigs that LEGO sows everywhere: In video games (LEGO Batman II DC Super Heroes with Lex Luthor), in the books (Batman Electro-Suit in the encyclopedia LEGO Batman The Visual Dictionary), in the Blu-rays (Young Han Solo in the Blu-ray The Padawan Menace) ... And it seems that the video game LEGO Lord of the Rings whose release is announced for the end of October 2012 is no exception to this fashion.

Indeed, a guy who knows a guy who works at Gamestop could have obtained the still unconfirmed official information that the video game would soon be offered for pre-order in a limited edition accompanied by an exclusive Gandalf The White minifigure.

No trace for the moment of this offer on the site in question, but we still have time to see it appear. As usual, if you want to acquire the minifig on its own, you will have to turn to eBay or Bricklink.

6873 Spider-Man's Doc Ock Ambush

Artifex is particularly productive at the moment and the reviews follow one another at a frantic pace. It is also paradoxical, with the large community of fans, the forums which bring together thousands of members, the blogs and websites by the hundreds, we always come back to the same when it comes to having a review. online a few days after (sometimes before) the marketing of a set.

In a few months, Artifex got everyone to agree, and even if some here consider that we are only talking about him, I must say that I do not have too much choice in terms of reviews: If I'm looking for something concise, aesthetically successful and without unnecessary and redundant comments, I come back to the gentleman's reviews, at least when it comes to the latest news.

So, admire the work, get an idea about this set, and then decide if it is worth integrating your collection ...

San Diego Comic Con 2012 - LEGO Star Wars: Darth Maul's Mini Sith Infiltrator (Photo Credits FBTB)

This is not to add that I am posting here the latest review of Artifex, namely that of the contents of the tin can sold by LEGO for the modest sum of $ 40 at the last Comic Con in San Diego and that I presented to you two weeks ago.

Obviously, as a good collector of Star Wars sets, I hastened to get it on eBay from a seller who is keen to make a little margin when he returns from the show. As a reminder, this limited edition consists of the Darth Maul in The Clone Wars version identical to the one distributed for some time in promotional bag (Reference 6005188), and some parts allowing to assemble a very ordinary mini speeder.

To tell the truth, I almost find that the box is more interesting than its contents, that is to say ...

30210 Frodo with Cooking Corner

This is certainly not the polybag of the century, especially since when you have one, you will have a hard time stacking Frodo's minifigs just for fun. The rest of the bag and in particular the barrel can be used to eventually dress a tavern, but overall, nothing to be ecstatic in front of this polybag just available exclusively at Toys R Us in the USA for 4.99 $.

In the meantime, you can still watch the Artifex video review and discover the joys of barbecue the Middle-earth way ...

The Bat - velociraptor

While waiting for a hypothetical interpretation by LEGO of the BatWing in Nolan sauce, here is the version of velociraptor, a talented Taiwanese MOCeur who offers a whole series of vehicles inspired by the movie The Dark Knight Rises.

Classic tumbler, Tumblers in camouflage version with integrated rocket launcher or BatWing (aka The Bat), there is something for everyone with these achievements which are also presented on Cuusoo (BatWing here, Tumbler there). Velociraptor also offers on its Brichshelf gallery many exploded-view photos of his BatWing. The more daring will venture to try to reproduce it, even if the lack of inventory of the parts used makes things a little complicated in case of need of restocking on Bricklink.

It is beautifully executed, each machine can accommodate two minifigs at the controls, and LEGO cannot say that it lacked inspiration to justify not offering us these machines in official versions. The large number of existing Tumbler MOCs should give ideas to the brand's designers and put them on the design track.

The MOCeurs who have tried their hand at the exercise have all shown a lot of ingenuity to restore the curves of the vehicle as it appears in the film, relegating the System version of the set. 7888 The Tumbler: Joker's Ice Cream Surprise released in 2008 as a somewhat clumsy prototype ...

To discover these velociraptor MOCs from every angle, you have the choice: His Brickshelf gallery (Batwing & Tumbler) or dedicated topics at Pockyland (Batwing & Tumbler).
