LEGO Ideas 21324 123 Sesame Street

As planned, LEGO today unveils the LEGO Ideas set 21324 123 Sesame Street (1367 pieces - 119.99 € / 139.00 CHF), a freely inspired product of Ivan Guerrero's project aka Bulldoozer whose idea had been acclaimed by fans.

In this box which will be available from November 1st on the official online store and in the LEGO Stores, enough to assemble the famous building located at 123 Sesame Street and a street end with Mr Hooper's shop to obtain a diorama 36 cm long, 21 cm deep and 24 cm high.

The set also allows you to obtain six of the most emblematic characters of the license: Oscar The Grouch (Mordicus) in his trash, Bert (Bart), Big Bird (replaced by the albatross Toccata in the French adaptation of the show ), Cookie Monster (Macaron), Elmo and Ernie (Ernest).

The official version is a little less ambitious than the Structure initially offered on the LEGO Ideas platform, but with new molds galore, a very colorful and varied inventory and a rather faithful representation of the places, this set has solid arguments to make despite the relative popularity of the Sesame Street license with us. We will talk about it again in a few hours on the occasion of a "Review ".

lego ideas first 2020 review phase results

LEGO has just announced the result of the first phase of evaluation LEGO Ideas for the year 2020 which brought together 26 more or less successful ideas which had all been able to gather the 10.000 necessary supports and the project Earth globe submitted by Disneybrick55 (Guillaume Roussel) has been definitively validated.

Project Sonic Mania - Green Hill Zone de Viv Grannell is not going by the wayside just yet, it remains under review and its fate will be communicated later. I remind you that Sonic is not a stranger at LEGO, the character was the star of one of the extensions of the late concept LEGO Dimensions (71244 Sonic The Hedgehog Level Pack).

As a bonus, the project Legendary Stratocaster submitted by Tomáš Letenay for the competition "Music to our Ears"organized on the LEGO Ideas platform is also validated and will become an official product. However, this project had only won 7th place in the competition during the voting phase organized with fans.

The butchery will continue from the start of next year with the result of the second phase of the 2020 review which sets a record with 35 projects in various and varied themes that have been able to mobilize the 10.000 necessary supports. Remember that your opinion only counts for the qualification of the different ideas proposed. Then it's LEGO that decides.

LEGO Ideas: 35 projects qualified for the second review phase of 2020

92176/21309 NASA Apollo Saturn V

LEGO now confirms the rumor that has been circulating for several days: the LEGO Ideas sets 21309 NASA Apollo Saturn V. (2017 - 119.99 €) and 21313 Ship in a Bottle (2018 - 69.99 €) will soon be released under new references (92176 for Saturn V and 92177 for the bottle).

Below, the brief comment from the LEGO Ideas team which confirms the reissue of these two sets removed from the LEGO catalog and mentions that the commissioning contract for fan designers (1% of the amount of sales made) remains active despite the change in reference:

The two sets are being re-launched due to popular demand, and as they had already left the market, we could not keep the original numbers. The agreements with the Fan Designers remain unchanged.

Also: one of the new set numbers matches a fan designer's birthday. They were both very involved in the process.

At this stage, we therefore simply know that the reference assigned to each of these two boxes changes for logistical considerations, but we do not yet know if the inventory of these two sets will be modified or if they will emerge identically.

LEGO Ideas: 35 projects qualified for the second review phase of 2020

Record broken: after the 26 projects qualified for the first phase of the 2020 review, it will be necessary to sort among the 35 ideas qualified for the second.

Few really original ideas in this new wave of qualified projects between May 2020 and today, many of them simply based on the popularity of the universes concerned and some content to resume the principle of the basic playset already declined in several times for TV series.

Various and varied monuments, licenses galore and themes usually very popular with AFOLs, confinement requires, the idleness resulting from the obligation to stay at home has allowed some of the ideas that would normally not have necessarily reached the threshold of 10.000 supporters within the time limit to get their ticket for this second review phase of 2020.

If this increase in the number of qualified ideas, on the other hand, is simply due to the growing popularity of the LEGO Ideas platform, in my opinion it might be time to raise the qualification threshold to skim a little.

We will also note an acceleration of the "professionalization" of the content and the presentation of the various ideas submitted: the transition from the state of idea to that of official set is accompanied by a commission of 1% on the amount of sales. achieved and the popularity that goes with it. Two significant consequences that are worth trying to come up with something successful and credible.

If you want to refresh your ideas and try a prognosis on the idea (s) that will end up on the shelves of the official online store and the LEGO Stores in 2021, I let you take a look at the article put online at this address, you will find details of the 35 projects in the running.

In the meantime, we will soon be entitled to the result of the first phase of the 2020 review which brings together the 26 projects below:

Update : LEGO reacts to the significant increase in the number of projects which reach 10.000 supporters in recent months and indicates that it takes note of the situation without committing to any changes to the regulations for the moment. To read at this address.
