It's confirmed, the little LEGO Ideas set 40335 Space Rocket Ride will be offered on the official LEGO online store and in the LEGO Stores from June 5 to 18, 2019 from € 85 of purchase without restriction of range.

This small box of 154 pieces is the result of a competition launched last year on the LEGO Ideas platform and won by Mark Smiley. It's up to you to see if it deserves to pay a full price for one or more sets to get it or if it is better to wait a few days to buy it on the secondary market.

The result of the last LEGO Ideas evaluation phase for the year 2018 just fell and so this is the project Dinosaur Fossils Skeletons - Natural History Collection by Jonathan Brunn who wins this time. The set is announced for 2019.

The piano by Donny Chen is not definitively failed, it remains under evaluation and the decision made by LEGO on him will be revealed in a future announcement. To justify the extension of the reflection phase around this project, LEGO invokes the complexity of the model.

The chemical plant, the junk food stand and the liner go by the wayside.

All is not lost for the four projects below, all holders of the 10.000 supports necessary for the passage to the evaluation phase but initially rejected by LEGO which changes its mind today and therefore decides to give them a second chance:

LEGO has just announced the nine LEGO Ideas projects which are qualified for the first evaluation phase of 2019, the verdict of which will be rendered within a few months.

I must admit that I have a weakness for the project which features the offices of the company Dunder Mifflin. After all, even fans of the Friends series are going to be entitled to a set and even if I know in advance that a possible box based on The Office would end up at my house in the back of a closet, to be able to get the minifigs of Michael Scott. (Steve Carell), Dwight Schrute (Rainn Wilson) or Jim Halpert (John Krasinski) would be enough for my happiness ...

The rest of this new selection of projects that have gathered the essential 10.000 supports to go through the review phase doesn't really appeal to me.

This is a detail that will not have catastrophic consequences but still deserves to be highlighted: the LEGO ideas sets 21316 The Flintstones et 21317 Steamboat Willie are both stamped with the number # 24 while the set 21317 Steamboat Willie is chronologically the 25th set to be released in the LEGO Ideas range.

It is difficult to find a plausible explanation for this error which has passed through the meshes of the network of controls, meetings, stakeholders and decision-makers who at LEGO validate all the attributes of a product before its marketing ...

I do not know if LEGO has the intention and the technical possibility of rectifying this error before the set goes on sale on April 1, but I can however confirm that the copy that was sent to me bears the number # 24. If the error is subsequently corrected, the winner will therefore have an ultra-mega-super-collector box (or not) in their hands ...
