As a good compulsive LEGO fan, dad of two children (5 and 11 years old), I was logically interested in certain derivative products including clothing from the range Lego wear intended for children aged 4 to 12 (104 - 152 cm). I've always found these jackets and other fleeces a bit expensive, but I finally took the plunge this year by buying a ski / winter jacket for the younger of my two offspring.
I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised by the thing. the finish is very correct, the cut is well thought out to allow freedom of movement to the child and the lining is made of somewhat technical materials grouped under the name Lego tec promoting the evacuation of perspiration and humidity, even if we are still far from the very high-end materials used by the most famous brands such as Gore-Tex for example.
The product is not exempt from the usual faults of this type of clothing: Hood that does not hold very well with its three unfortunate snaps and that friends are quick to pull in the schoolyard or zipper a little cheap which tends to get a bit recalcitrant over time.
The jacket's lifespan, however, seems superior to generic Decathlon products or to products distributed by major clothing brands and the original look stands out enough not to spend his time looking for his son's jacket on the coat racks of school or daycare where similar jackets are lined up. Parents facing this problem will understand me. The brand, marketed by the Danish company Kabooki, offers many models, some of which are frankly colorful and others more discreet. There is something for every taste.
The products of the LEGO Wear range, t-shirts, jackets, fleeces, sweatshirts, rain gear etc ..., are relatively expensive outside the sales period, but with a little patience and vigilance, it is possible to find them at very correct prices at Amazon for example, which dedicates a branded boutique. The Ninjago and Star Wars ranges are mainly featured on t-shirts and other sweatshirts.
If you've ever purchased LEGO Wear branded clothing, feel free to share your thoughts in the comments.
